This Sunday, Sept 27th we begin our Fall Outdoor Worship! It's very Methodist I might add. It's this Sunday and all through October! Worship is 10:00am outside, Sunday school inside at 9:00. We will have a potluck lunch afterwards, inside (easier for tables). Consider this amazing video your invite! 😜😊

Pastor Brad here! Today at Common Ground we have started a new children's and youth ministry, drawing on my experience in camping ministry, specifically Camp Tekoa! So I worked my magic and built a fire by our Meditation Trail, we cooked hot dogs, marshmallows, had a scavenger hunt, and had a great time!!!
And the kids picked a new name for our motley crew; behold, we are the Jesus Peaches! Or Peaches for short! Keep an eye out as we will meet monthly, for something fun and holy!

Just so y'all know, we have a weekly Food Pantry here at Common Ground on Tuesdays 10am - 12pm. And wow we were busy today. 51 bags of groceries were donated and 14 were for new families. This is available for all local families, so share the word with anyone who needs a hand!
We love the things we do at 1st UMC Stanley on Common Ground. Love thy neighbor!

Pastor Brad here! So, for the first time since I came here, on this lovely morning I walked the Labyrinth Trail here behind First UMC-Stanley Common Ground, and I came upon this. A cross covered in nails, where you can literally nail your burden, your heavy weight on the Cross which Jesus carries for all of us. What a painful yet lovely image. And yes I added mine as well.

These are some of the many lovely things that are here at Common Ground, open to all! Seriously, it is open to everyone! And with weather like this, don't miss this chance to walk in creation, on holy ground.

Peep and Pluto have gotten a face lift! These bouncers are from the 40’s and came out of an old barn. Thank you Johnny Queen and Nancy Cozart for your hard work. They look great. More playground equipment is coming soon.
