These are uncertain and painful times in America. There is so much hatred, division, and polarization; and a commensurate lack of empathy and compassion. People who claim to be "moral", and people who claim to embrace "Christian beliefs", back away from those beliefs the very second they begin to interfere with their personal "rights", or when those beliefs force them to come face-to-face with their own bigotry or racism.
With this page, I hope to do a number of things:
1) Act as a clearinghouse for all things related to "Moral Fusion", particularly when viewed in the context of American Politics.
2) To be a forum for open discussions of all things related to the "Moral Fusion" movement in America, particularly in the context of American Politics.
3) To awaken the American people to the moral turpitude associated with the social injustice and inequality that is systemic in our society.
4) To disseminate information to proponents of the Moral Fusion movement so they may better represent it in America.
A point of clarification here: I am NOT a supporter of "Christian Nationalism" as I consider it a cancer on America. The conflating of the Christian and Political ideologies is NOT a good thing. "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's", and render unto Christ what is Christ's. What we can do, is embrace the values and beliefs that God shares with us through His Word, and use those values and beliefs to form a foundation for our political and societal beliefs WITHOUT invoking God's name. By approaching Moral Fusion and politics in this manner, we make it possible to include almost everyone in the discussion and the process.
Privileged Americans have an "ego-imperative" belief that their success is a product of their own hard work, and that all their worldly success is attributable to nothing but their own efforts. They also believe in the corollary that someone else's failure in our society is solely a result of their own lack hard work. This manufactured belief system is the engine that powers the social injustice that exists in today's American society. Additionally, the historical racism prevalent in American society since its founding, has yielded a privileged American class that is predominantly Caucasian and which has little or no empathy for the unprivileged, and under represented Americans of color. Privileged Americans use their ego-imperative understanding of their success and other people's failures as justification for why our society and government should not apply resources to correcting the social injustices that exist in America today.
This page is brand new and a work-in-progress. If you want to support the Moral Fusion Politics movement in America, please consider adding your voice to this page, and recommending it to your friend.
For more information on "Moral Fusion and Politics", consider the writings of the Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II, one of the founders of this movement.
