Stanford First Church of God, located on Logan Ave. would like to invite everyone to join us next Sunday, June 7 at 10:45 am. A very talented young lady, Julia Fuqua will be singing a few songs at our church service. Julia is the daughter of Shannon & Greg Fuqua and the granddaughter of Etta & Roger Meek. Julia sings with such beautiful passion, you won’t want to miss. I hope to see everyone’s smiling face in church next Sunday.

Part 6 of reflections in Barbara Jean Tillett’s life

Here we go folks, tomorrow is the Big Day. Stop by the Stanford First Church of God and wish Barbara Jean a Happy 90th birthday!!!!!! Not sure where to begin because Barbara Jean’s life is so amazing in so many ways. Let me share a few pictures of true love 💕 and a few tidbits of their life together. They shared everything with each other including both their families making for even more adventures. Being blessed with an extraordinary blended family is a blessing from God. Barbara Jean and Claudie never wasted a moment with God’s blessings. Claudie retired from the US Air Force as a lieutenant colonel with 28 years. He then went to work for a commercial Airlines and the adventures began. Claudie took Barbara Jean with him all over the world staying inseparable making friends everywhere they went. After Claudie stop flying commercial, he and Barbara Jean travelled all over selling knives at flea markets. Barbara Jean has an incredible amount of photo albums displaying 90 years of love and life. So take a moment to wish her an amazing birthday tomorrow and become some new memories for her to share later ❤️.

Part 5 of reflections in Barbara Jean Tillett’s life.

Barbara Jean first met her true love when she was a sophomore high school when her dear friend introduced Barbara Jean to her brother Herbie C Tillett ,(Claudie).  they dated for a little while, but unfortunately, Claudie join the US Air Force. Neither one of them had any idea what God had planned for them . They both went on with their lives until that special lunch date, her friend had arranged, surprising her with her true love, Claudie. Love comes to us in different ways in different times in our lives, but love never left these two hearts. They were married December 26, 1989, and their amazing life together began. Barbara Jean and Claudie cherished every day together with tenderness and devotion for each other. I asked Barbara Jean what her fondest memories were with Claudie and she looked up slightly to her left with a big smile on her face, and after a few moments, Barbara Jean began to speak with a soft tenderness in her voice and said , “all of them” , she said there was not a fondness memory because every day of their lives together was as special as the day before. Being born on Valentine’s Day, couldn’t be more fitting a person as beautiful inside and out is Barbara Jean. One more day of sharing memories tomorrow and then everyone can stop by the Stanford First Church of God between 2 and 4 and wish Barbara Jean a happy 90th birthday.

Part 4 of reflections in Barbara Jean Tillett’s life
Barbara Jean has always been focused on family and friends her whole life and one of Barbara Jean‘s good friends was also the sister of the young man that swept off her feet and she was 16 years old. As life goes sometimes, we don’t always get what we want when we want it. Don’t fret, God always has a plan for us all as the years went by Barbara Jean being the driven and nurturing person she is, she moved on with family and friends living life to its fullest not knowing there were greater times to be had. On a day that Barbara Jean couldn’t have imagined she was asked to lunch by the sister of her true love not realizing he would be there. When their eyes met their hearts started racing faster than a speed of light, just staring at each other‘s faces with so much love. Tomorrow I’ll fill you in on some wonderful things that happen when the two were finally able to be together.

Part #3 of reflections in Barbara Jean Tillett’s life
Barbara Jean hit the floor running when she was born. Her father was a Coal Minor and her mom did a little bit of everything as well as raising eight children,so it’s easy to see why Barbara Jean is a strong loving woman. In eastern Ky. there is memorial wall and on that wall is a stone honoring their father (picture is attached). There are all kinds of love and Barbara Jean experience and demonstrated so many different kinds of love in her many friendships in school and work as well as a mother of two children Cassie and Fred three granddaughters and five great grandchildren. When she became a single mom, she never stopped sharing and spreading love with everyone in her life. Barbara Jean stayed single for many years and maintained an amazing life,( not knowing her true love would be back in her life). Barbara Jean took several trips with her mom and sisters Peggy Mary and Etta, she made beautiful quilts like the Mickey Mouse quilt for her daughter and many other family members . She used to square dance and travel a lot with coworkers, enjoying life and making memories. Stay tuned in with us as we get closer in sharing Barbara Jean’s true love 💕
