๐HAPPY VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT DAY!!๐
This month, we honor two incredible congregants who have gone above and beyond for our community when they need it most: Robin Treidel Himelstein and Elisabeth Giles!
At any one time, many of our fellow congregants are dealing with health issues or other twists thrown their way. Luckily, Temple Sinai has Robin and Elisabeth, a superhero duo that delivers soup and a salad, makes check-in calls, drives congregants to appointments, and listens. Lots and lots of listening.
When Rabbi Jay, Cantor Micah, or Larry Stoogenke become aware of a need, Robin or Elisabeth reach out personally to learn how the congregation can help. While meals are often the starting pointโwith volunteers providing up to eight mealsโthe support frequently extends beyond food. Volunteers provide transportation, send a thoughtful note, or even help care for a pet.
For Elisabeth and Robin, the most meaningful part is creating connections that continue long after the meals have been delivered. In many cases, recipients later become volunteers themselves, inspired by the kindness they experienced when they needed it most.
Thank you, Robin and Elisabeth, for all that you do for us!
