St. John's Methodist Church - Stamford, Texas The church family of St. John's has now been confessing Christ for over a century. We are called to be a great commission church.

Touching one heart, one home, one community at a time, we seek to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, that we might all grow into the likeness of Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. May we continue to grow together in the unity of God's service.

After finishing the KFC school year last week, this Wednesday will look a bit different. There is still plenty to look forward to, though!

TODAY, MAY 13TH:
6:00 PM- Common Ground Youth
6:30 PM- Firm Foundation Youth

FRIDAY, MAY 15TH:
11:00 AM- BBQ Sandwich Fundraiser (all proceeds aid in sending students to Butman Camp)

SUNDAY, MAY 17TH:
10:50 AM- Senior Sunday Service (special fellowship meal to follow)
6:00 PM- Baccalaureate Service (at Stamford High School Auditorium)

5:00 PM- Kids For Christ (KFC) End Of Year Party
6:00 PM- Common Ground Youth
7:00 PM- Firm Foundation Youth

Our KFC End Of Year Party will end at 6:30 PM this week rather than 6:00 PM. There will be bounce houses, outdoor games, and bounce houses! Firm Foundation Youth will begin at 7:00 PM instead of 6:30 PM!

Join us this evening beginning at 6:30pm for an Ash Wednesday worship service followed by a church-wide meal immediately after worship.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent on the church calendar. This time of waiting on and preparing for Easter invites us to remember God's merciful act of redemption through Jesus on the cross. In a special way, we remember the suffering that Jesus endured as he bore our sins. We also remember that we share in and celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection in our baptism. In a similar way, on Ash Wednesday, we remember that we die to our self (lay down our want for the things of this world) as we are raised to new life in Jesus.

Join us tonight, each Sunday morning at 10:50am, and each Wednesday during Lent at 6:30pm as we prepare for the celebration to come on Easter morning!
