What a joyful day at St. John’s!

Today we celebrated the Confirmation of Aiden and then gathered outside for our parish picnic — the best attended picnic in recent memory. It was wonderful to see so many generations of our church family together sharing food, laughter, games, conversation, and simply enjoying one another’s company on a beautiful afternoon.

Congratulations again to Aiden on this important and faithful milestone. We are so proud of you and grateful to celebrate this special day together.

Thank you to everyone who brought food, helped grill, organized games, set up, cleaned up, and made the afternoon so welcoming and joyful. Days like this remind us that church is not only what happens in worship, but also the community we build around tables, on the lawn, and in friendship with one another.

St. John’s was full of life today — thanks be to God!

As we continue in these days between Ascension and Pentecost, we hold before God all who mourn and all who await the promise of resurrection and new life.

Eternal God, your Son ascended to prepare a place for us. Comfort us with the promise of everlasting life and unite us with all the saints who now share in your heavenly kingdom. We remember before you Diane Egley and all whom we love but see no longer. Strengthen our faith until that day when all your people are gathered into the fullness of your glory.

May God’s peace and comfort surround Diane’s family and all who grieve.
