In April 2025, Rev. Douglas McArthur and Eileen McArthur led a group of First UMC disciples on an unforgettable pilgrimage—Journey in the Footsteps of Paul
From the breathtaking vistas and ancient streets of Thessaloniki to the Roman-era prison in Philippi where Paul was once held, each stop brought Scripture and early Christian history vividly to life. A deeply moving highlight came in Meteora, where participants re-affirmed their baptisms at the shrine of Lydia, using water from a quiet, tree-shaded stream. In Corinth, communion was shared beneath the trees, guided by Paul’s own words to the Corinthians, before the journey concluded in Athens with a tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon.
It was a powerful experience of faith, history, and community—one that will continue to shape hearts and deepen discipleship for years to come.
