Compassion Restoration Ministries

Compassion Restoration Ministries compassionrestoration@ gmail.com Hypothermia is a real danger to all people and providing adequate warmth in the cold of winter.

CRM focuses on 3 fundamentals of physical life:

Dry

Warm

Safe

Keeping water where it belongs (outside the home or in the pipes and drains inside the home) is essential to healthy living. Water that enters the home can turn a living space into a soaking wet mess, but also lead to the formation of molds and mildew that adversely affect the health of people. The economically disadvantaged in our

communities are particularly susceptible as their diets, living conditions and stress levels tend to allow more physical maladies to occur to a segment of our population which may not have adequate financial resources to access adequate medical and health facilities. CRM addresses the area of keeping dry by providing plumbing and roofing service to those in need without the money to afford real solutions. Again, the resistance of the poor to ailments related to cold is a very real threat to their well being. CRM provides service to heating systems and firewood to those with fireplaces and wood stoves used as the primary means of heating the living spaces. The elderly and physically challenged are prone to accidents related to tripping and having to navigate stairs that they’re not physically able to negotiate. CRM provides construction services which build stairs, handrails and handicapped ramps in order to prevent injury and increase mobility of those with a decreased ability to manage without these aids in the home. CRM is a devoted group of people willing to serve in those areas all in the name of Christ. We welcome believer and those still searching for Someone to believe in. We believe that through obedient service to the poor, the world will be changed and others will become disciples of Christ. We focus on those 3 areas as they tend to be the ones that really affect immediate health, safety and comfort which alleviates stress on the body.

2005 Ford Crown Victoria given away this week. This is the most pristine vehicle we’ve ever given away. Immaculate condition. All it needed when it came to us was a serpentine belt that was cracked but not broken yet. The donor even washed and vacuumed it on the way to drop it off to us.

Anyone who knows the Crown Victoria cars, knows they’re highly reliable. This one has 266k miles on it. Drives great. Well maintained. This is the second vehicle this donor gave us. Both great cars.

This mother/grandmother has 4 kids she still carries around in her car. The front seat is a bench seat which means the car carries 6 including the driver. Practical car.

She scrambled to get the money together for tax, title, and registration but did it. And didn’t miss a rent payment. Barely making it but a dependable car should keep them from becoming homeless.

Best to her on her journey.

2011 Chrysler Town & Country given away last week. Didn’t take much to put it on the road for this family. Low mileage considering the vehicles were given.

This minivan will help her keep her job and be able to move her crew of kids around.

Nice when we’re on the “prevention” side of things. Keeping a job is easier than getting one.

2004 Hyundai Sonata given away today.

You may recognize this car as having been given away last year. It was. Had some minor issues which presented as major but those are fixed and the car is ready to go.

Single mom of two. Seeking work. That will be easier now that she has transportation.

We prayed as they prepared to depart as we are prone to do. May this car provide the assistance she needs to get a job and do what needs done to provide for her family.

Well here’s one I forgot to post. Ford Fiesta given away back in February (check out the remaining snow on the windshield).

Nice little car. Turned out better than expected. Good functional essential transportation. Didn’t take much to make this one ready to give away.

Praying this is going to provide good transportation for quite some time into the future.

Gave away this Nissan Xterra recently.

One benefit to our location here in Stafford is that people can donate vehicles which won’t pass emissions inspections without spending big bucks to pass.

Many donors decide to donate their vehicles to us because we can keep them on the roads. Just not registered in Stafford or a few other NoVA counties.

That was this vehicle. It didn’t need work to give it away. Client lives on King George.

We do help people with repairs to their cars. Only the essentials. Obviously a tire here along with whatever mechanical needs to be handled.

This person is on the rebound in life after some series of issues dragged them down.

Here’s hoping for better days ahead for the owner.

2007 GMC Yukon given away this week. Family had a major accident which put the breadwinner out of work for an extended period and his vehicle decided for the motor to eat itself.

This vehicle allows him to return to work in a limited capacity (some income is better than none) and allows the family to run their chores without having to pay for a rental car.

This is one of those examples where this vehicle will get them over an unexpected hurdle in life. Prevents them from losing their housing and keeps him employed. In other words, this family only needed this assistance once. We’ve had other clients who’ve come back for repeat assistance. We really can’t afford to help a family mor than once since there are so many families who’ve not received help even once.

Best to this family moving forward.

2004 one owner Honda CRV given away recently.

Self-disciplined person going to school. Caregiver currently. Making sound financial decisions. Future is looking bright.

This car has well over 250k miles. Can keep rolling for a good number of years if given the right love and care.
