Please keep his wife Josalyn and the entire Family in your prayers.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
We’re saddened yet honored to “Serve Our Family” and to “Celebrate The Life” of our anointed covenant brother, friend and former staff member, PASTOR J’VON WOODS (age 62) of Houston.
PASTOR J’VON was a one of a kind individual with a compassionate and loving heart. He made an unforgettable impact upon every soul who was blessed to cross his path.
To many he was known as Houston’s Church Musician and/or the Prophetic Praise & Worship Leader. This minister would help usher in The Anointing to any dead or dry place.
His sincere yielding to The Spirit and his magnifying of JESUS, shifted atmospheres of worship. His intentionality caused the ministry experience in a service to flow more freely and effectively.
He’s literally sang and played keyboard and/or organ for thousands of church services of all denominations, conferences, workshops, musicals, concerts, weddings, funerals, revivals, prophetic soaking sessions and so much more.
Amongst many predominantly Black churches, pastors, musicians and singers in the greater Houston area, there’s probably at least one person (associated with these respective congregations) who knew Pastor J’Von in some special way.
They also have probably shared a late night meal with he and others at iHop, Denny’s, Waffle House, Cracker Barrel, Luby’s, Chili’s or the likes. This almost always led to them witnessing him ministering to restaurant staff and other diners. This loving encourager touched people from all walks of life.
He’s even been invited to teach and train praise teams and choirs both in Texas and around the country. He was empowered to do this because he valued being a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered worshipper and a lover of the Word.
In essence, he loved The Lord passionately and was unapologetic about his bold stance. This led him to become addicted to the Presence Of The Holy Spirit. He would often saturate himself in worship and prayer for hours on end.
Be that as it may, he was also a part time comedian, who would have you cracking up. This Man Of God also served our nation via the U.S. Army.
Please pray for his new bride Josalyn. They were just married Aug 2, 2025.🙏
