Paul shares that freeing our mind allows us to be transformed, changing the way we think and helps us to learn God's will. When we free our minds we're able to unplug from this world, realize all that God has done and is doing and allow God to use us to impact this broken world.

God shows us that sometimes things may go differently than we expected, but God is consistently guiding us towards His intended purpose for our lives and His Kingdom. As we wait for God's promise of purpose, we must look for God, realize that there are blessings on the other side of dashed expectations and most of we've got to know that God won't let us down.

Our salvation and discipleship are intricately linked as is our spiritual formation and discipleship. When we said "Yes" to Jesus as LORD, we also said "yes" to following Him. Salvation and spiritual formation lead to internal transformation, while discipleship is the outward expression of our salvation and is the long-long process of becoming more like Christ.

Jesus shows us in Matthew 22:36-40 how critical the Great Commandment to love God with our all and to love one another likewise is to our spiritual formation which is critical to or effectiveness as disciples and as the Church.

God shows up in our desert places of our lives as we question Him concerning whether he sees, hears and cares for us. The text shows us that there's a dialogue that takes place with God answering and questioning us as He did Hagar. God hears! God sees! God cares!
