"...The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21
The well-known worship song "Blessed Be Your Name" draws inspiration from the story of Job. Job's life teaches that worship is a choice, not just an emotion. If we only worship when we feel good or everything is perfect, we're missing the point of Job's example. Everything we have, even the hardships, is a gift from God. When hard times come, is your first reaction to fall and worship Him? The Giver is worthy of praise, even when blessings are taken away. While we may not always feel like worshipping, choosing to do so keeps our focus on God, who remains constant despite our pain.
