We have contacted Judy and David. They are back in the US from their recent trip to Nepal but are asking for prayers for their "Carry Forward Nepal" and other Christian groups in Nepal where the recent mudslides and flooding have occured.

O Merciful father, who hast taught us in thy holy Word that thou dost not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men:
Look with pity upon the sorrows of thy servants in northern Nepal for whom our prayers are offered. Remember them, O Lord, in mercy, nourish their souls with patience and comfort them with a sense of thy goodness, lift up thy countenance upon them and give them peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN (BCP pg 837)

Thank you for your prayers

Gentle reminder! We are taking donations for the teachers at SMES to help them with items they need for classrooms. Most teachers pay for a lot of miscellaneous items they need for students in classrooms. Let’s help them out! Items can be dropped off at the church. Call the church for best time to drop off or contact (912) 882-5308. School starts August 5th so we want to be able to provide any items to teachers during their Pre-Planning days which are soon!

The "Cards Day" Service Project will be July 25th (Saturday) at 1pm at Christ Church in the fellowship hall. We will be making cards or writing cards for our member "shut-ins" and those that are on our church prayer list. This will be a personal message, or just a quick "thinking of you" thought. Bring any names and addresses that would benefit from a caring card from Christ Church.

Please remember that Lent is a time of rest for your soul, a rest that will be needed when you find yourself reaching the Holy Week before Good Friday and Easter.

Bring your soul to a place of peace, pour out your heart to the Father, just as Jesus did. Saying: Not my will but Thine be done. You are coming to that time of decision! Are You to follow God's plan for You or your own plan? Do not take this time lightly.

There are times available for your prayerful journey in Lent:

-Christ Church each Wednesday services : 12:15pm. (with Communion)

-Christ Church each Wednesday night: 6pm Soup and Salad Lent Together. 1st week: “Episcopalian Season Colors" (with Communion)

-King of Peace Episcopal Church each Friday "Stations of the Cross" service in the Garden at Noon. (6230 Laurel Island Pkwy. Kingsland)

-Saturday February 28th 9am-11:30am at King of Peace Church; Quiet day for all women of the church (bring a friend) including organized program of prayer, meditation, walking the labyrinth, and culminating with Eucharist.

For our next meeting, we will complete the last chapter of our current book study, “Wicked Women of the Bible”, chapter 20 entitled “Wicked Crazy: The Story of Mary Magdalene on pages 189-197, with questions on page 198.

We will then transition to our new book study, “Holy Moments” by Matthew Kelly. For our first meeting in February, please up to page 30.

Consider the following questions:
What do you think of the story of the Abbot’s answer from the Hermit?
-Have you thought those “three questions” in your lifetime?
“Something is missing?”
“There must be more to life”
“I have so much more to offer”
-On page 16; do you ever reflect the meaning of your life; and come up with contented?
-Do you think the simplicity of a Holy or Unholy Moment choice is empowering for you?
-On pages 23 and 24; “Collaborating with God” Do you believe that this may be the way to true peace for humans? Is it powerful for you?
-On pages 30 and 31; Did you try to experiment with making Holy Moments for your choices? What happened?

Our next book study will be "Holy Moments" by Matthew Kelly.
