Today an Apostolic Pillar gained his reward in the kingdom of God.
My heart is shattered and broken because I lost my friend. We spoke yesterday afternoon and at the end of our conversation he told me he had been preaching the gospel for over 50 years and still could not be a benchwarmer or someone that only sat on the pew. He had to be working for the kingdom of God, it was the breath he breathed and working for God meant more than life itself. At the end of our conversation yesterday his words were to me “Brother Walker, there is no place to give up. We are in this race to win it until the very end.” He went on to tell me …”I either needed to build another church or continue to be able to preach full-time because I had rather die in the pulpit than to die sitting on the pew.” His last message he preached, was titled ‘Going Up the Mountain To See Jesus’. As he preached he died right there in the middle of the message.
I will see my friend again because heaven is now his home. Thomas Potter, You Will Be Greatly Missed.
