Beginning this Sunday, we invite you to join us for guided meditation before Sunday Service. Meditation will begin at 10:30 a.m., last approximately 15 minutes, and be led by members of our community.
Throughout the summer, we will explore a variety of meditation practices, offering different styles and approaches so that everyone, from those completely new to meditation to seasoned practitioners, can find something meaningful. We hope even those who have meditated before can find some new tools to add to their practice.
One of our themes this summer, while Pastor Lauren is away on sabbatical, is reflection. We want to create more opportunities for us to pause, listen, and connect more deeply with ourselves, one another, and the Spirit. In a world that often encourages us to move quickly and stay busy, meditation invites us to slow down. Through simple breath work, stillness, and awareness, we can become more present to what is happening within us and around us. This practice of pausing and paying attention is an important spiritual tool that can help us cultivate greater peace, clarity, and connection to ourselves and the greater world.
Whether meditation feels familiar or completely new, we encourage you to give it a try. And remember you don't need any special experience, you only need a willingness to show up and be present.
As Pastor Lauren spends this season on her own journey of rest, reflection, and renewal, we are excited to embark on our own reflective practices as a community. While our paths this summer may be separate, they are also parallel. As she leans into moments of deep reflection and meditation, may we too create space in our lives to listen, grow, and be transformed.
We are excited to share this opportunity with you and hope you'll join us Sunday mornings this summer.
