Hello prayer partners! We had a beautiful time of ministry tonight. Would you please join us in lifting these souls and their requests to the King of kings?
* For E and J1 and their family. They are homeless, living out of their vehicle. They said 211 was not able to help them. We gave them our ministry phone number and offered to sit down and go through our resource guide with them so they could try some other phone numbers. Would you pray that they would follow through, and that they would find a safe place to live?
* For V, whom we prayed for last year, and stopped by tonight to tell us how good our prayers have worked in his life! (We reminded him that it wasn't because of "our" prayers, but because of Who we prayed to. :) ) Pray that V continues to be blessed, and that he goes deeper in following Christ.
* For P and her family members, who asked for prayer for their futures.
* For C, who asked for prayer regarding his cancer treatments, his marriage, and his teenage daughter, who is in another state and is not in a good situation.
* For T, who was in a hurry, but said to "please" pray for him--for "everything."
* For J2. He was clearly under the influence tonight.
* For A, who asked for prayer to get back on his feet. He was very grateful for the cold water bottle and our brief conversation. He seemed to have more on his mind, but was reluctant to share. We gave him our ministry phone number. Please pray that he reaches back out to us so that we can be of more assistance to him and pray further for him.
* For those that stopped for a cold water bottle but declined prayer. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would speak to their hearts over the next few days, and that they would realize that our small gesture was the hand of Jesus reaching out to them, and that they would find new life in Christ.
Thank you so much for praying with us! We could not do this without you!

Ever feel stuck in a cycle of bad luck? This morning at Hillside, we studied Joseph, who seemingly had all kinds of bad luck. However, as we learned in Genesis 37 and 39, God is able to use the strangest of "circumstances" to orchestrate truly miraculous outcomes of provision and restoration. In the weeks ahead, we will go further in Genesis and study more of Joseph's story--a story that only God could write.

THIS SATURDAY, May 23, we will be back at Hickey Park, 8700 N. Broadway (near the intersection of Harlan), St. Louis, MO 63147 with this tent and banner. From 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., we will be available to talk and pray with anyone in the community, and if needed, we will direct them to area resources for needs they might have. If you would like to join us at Hickey Park to pray with people and pass out cold water bottles, please message us. 🙂
Please pray that people in the community will be led to stop and talk/pray with us, and that they would be blessed by an encounter with the love of Jesus.

For Mother's Day weekend at Hillside, we looked this morning at three mothers from the Bible: Jochebed, Hannah, and Mary. These women were powerfully used by God to accomplish His will in their time, and these women have much to teach us about how to live our lives today.

So exciting to take the prayer tent out for the first time this year!! Would you please join us in praying for the precious souls we encountered tonight?
For D, who just ended a 17-year relationship. He said that one of his daughters, who is 4, is taking it particularly hard.
For A1, who asked me to pray for sobriety in his mind and in his actions.
For F, who said he is longing for Jesus' return, and asked for prayer that he would be able to keep lines of communication open with his friends and family.
For A2, who asked for prayer that God would keep him on the right path.
For S, who asked for general prayer over his life.
For others that stopped by to get a cold water bottle but declined to get prayer. Would you pray that the Holy Spirit would remind them that that simple water bottle was God's way of reaching out to them to tell them He loves them, He hasn't forgotten about them, and that He has great plans for them.
Thank you so much for partnering with us in prayer!

In our Bible Study at Hillside this morning, we studied the faith of Abraham, whose story is recorded in Genesis and is memorialized in Hebrews chapter 11--the "Hall of Faith."
While the 40 verses of Hebrews 11 pay tribute to well over a dozen Old Testament heroes of faith, Abraham gets more coverage--eight verses--than anyone else. Certainly he had great faith to leave home without being told where he would go, to believe for his first child in his old age, and to trust that if he gave his son Isaac back to God, God would still bless "all the families of the earth" through Isaac's descendants.
But as we discovered, along the journey, Abraham's faith was far from perfect. He questioned God, he laughed at God, and he impatiently tried to force God's promise to happen in his own strength (Hagar/Ishmael).
Yet through the ups and downs, Abraham always held on to at least a small remnant of faith--perhaps the size of a mustard seed--"and he believed the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
It is a good reminder that God can take our faith, which we often walk out so imperfectly and feels no bigger than a mustard seed, and still use it to move mountains and accomplish His will.

We had 24 residents at yesterday morning's Bible Study at Hillside! We studied two encounters that Jesus had with people "on the road:" The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24), and The Road to Damascus (Acts 9). Two very different encounters, but both revealing that wherever we are on the road of life's journey, Jesus will meet us there and provide exactly what we need.

At this morning's Bible Study at Hillside, we celebrated Easter early by reading about Jesus' death and resurrection, singing Phil Wickham's "Living Hope," praying for salvation, and handing out Easter chocolates!

"... just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." - Romans 6 : 4b

"O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? ... But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 15 : 55, 57
