🍃 For several months this year, young adults connected to and met on Zoom for storytelling and reflection on integral ecology.

🌀 Several were able to make a Pilgrimage of Hope to Wheeling, WV where pilgrims participated in hands-on experiences and immersion with community leaders as well as art reflection facilitated by and Kate Marshall from House of Hagar Catholic Worker.

💚 The guiding questions for the journey were:
1) How do we remain faithful to the land?
2) How do we practice resurrection and reparation in crucified places?

🪏Pilgrims observed a coal slurry and several frack pads, dialogued with local residents, and dug deep into the intersectional issues that emerged.

☀️ The beautiful Mt. Joseph grounds rooted the group in a specific place even as the participants prepared to carry the learning to their own communities.

📢 Stay tuned for a Dear Neighbor recap this fall and ways to connect to the larger conversation around integral ecology within the CSSJ community.

Yesterday, the CSSJ Federation Novitiate gathered at Sacred Heart Chapel in Brentwood, NY, for the Closing Ritual of the 2025–2026 Canonical Novitiate.

Together, we celebrated a year of prayer, discernment, community, and transformation, giving thanks for our novices, Sonal Castellino and Iffat Peter, their companions, directors, and all who have accompanied them on this sacred journey.

As we reflected on the year, we were inspired by Maxim 100:

"Everything in balance: heart, humility, detachment, prayer, trust, solitude, love of God and neighbor, a life joyous and free."*

May this spirit continue to guide us as we seek to be instruments of unioning love and reconciliation in our world.
