New City Fellowship: West End St. Louis

New City Fellowship: West End St. Louis In, of, and for the West End with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Louis. For the West End: We aim to benefit our community.

New City Fellowship West End is a Christ-centered church dedicated to serving and sharing the Gospel in the West End neighborhood of St. Our mission, which guides everything we do, is simple: "We are in, of, and for the West End with the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth". Our Mission Explained:

In the West End: We are physically present and committed to being the "proverbial Jerusa

lem" for our missional focus. We seek to show up for community events and invest our time and resources in the neighborhood. Of the West End: We desire to identify with our neighbors —sharing in the community's joys, burdens, and culture. We strive to be a true parish church, inviting residents of the West End to make our church their spiritual home. Everything we do, we want to bless our neighbors —from advocating against harmful displacement to supporting the educational needs of our young people. With the Gospel of Jesus Christ: This is the engine of our mission. We are not just "do gooders," but heralds sharing the Good News that King Jesus has come, and the Gospel is the power of salvation for everyone. to the ends of the earth: We are a church that wants to see the gospel spread to every corner of the earth. We want to partner with indigenous movements of gospel growth across the world. Who We Are (Core Values)

He faced betrayal from a close friend, endured a sham trial, and was crucified between two thieves. Buried for two days, his story would have ended in death if he had remained in the tomb. His sacrifice offered a path to salvation.

Our mission is to preach Christ in every situation, faithfully delivering messages directly from the scriptures. Every sermon is rooted in this text.

Trying to make it entirely on our own, without a community to help and love us, isn't a wise way to live. Our need to move forward often stems from past hurts, but we don't have to navigate it solo.

In verse 5, the call for community is clear: love one another. This isn't just any love; it's the Greek 'agape' – a sacrificial choice, even when people test your patience. It's the foundation of belonging.

Today, June 1, marks the day the guns went quiet in Tulsa's Greenwood District...but only after 18 hours of terror had reduced Black Wall Street to ash. Up to 300 people killed. Over 1,200 homes and businesses burned. 10,000 people left homeless and robbed of everything they had built.

The fires stopped on June 1, 1921. The racism that lit them did not.

No one was ever convicted. The massacre went unspoken in history books for decades — not by accident, but by design. What was erased was not just a neighborhood, but evidence of what Black excellence, safety, and self-determination could look like — and what white supremacy will do to destroy it.

We remember Greenwood not just as a tragedy, but as a testament. Remembrance is resistance.

Where do you need to stand courageously on the promises of God? God promised the Israelites that He would give them the land of Canaan. The only problem was that Canaan was already occupied. The Israelites had to fight the inhabitants before they could possess the land. In Joshua 1:7-9, God is commanding the Israelites to be strong and courageous. They need to stand on God's word, even when it looks like their mission is impossible. Will the Israelites obey God's command? Or will they shrink back in fear? Visit us this Sunday to hear Associate Pastor Thurman Williams preach on the subject, "God Promises His Word," from Joshua chapter one. We will meet in person at 5872 Maple at 4 pm.
