Our deepest sympathy for the passing of Cousin Lula Mae Stanford Porter Gratten. Pictured is Cousin LulaMae with Cousin Denise and Cousin LulaMae with her sister, nieces, nephew, & cousin after a wedding in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Cousin LulaMae is one of the nieces of the late JoeAnn Stanford Willis, cousin to Larry Joe, Denise, Carl, Bobby, Earl Willis. She is also the sister to Cousin Vera and known as Mom to CJ, Mike, Stan and Carolyn. Keep our family in prayer as families travel and attend Cousin LulaMae’s Homecoming Service in KCMO.

Service for Lula Mae Gratten will be held at Serenity Funeral Home. 1101 East Bannister Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64131 on June 13, 2026. The wait is from 10AM til 11AM. The service starts at 11AM.

There will be a live stream starting at 10:30AM.

Hello Willis Family! We have good news and bad news. Bad news is Cousin Esque Martin’s daughter, Vickie Davidson passed on Thursday, August 7,2025. She had 2 sons, Cedric and an incarcerated son name unknown. Esque (pictured middle) is the brother of the late Willis Martin (pictured right) sons of the late Elvira, brothers of Charlene, Charles, John of KC and Maxine Cowley of Louisiana. In laws of Brenda Martin who is doing well. The good news is that Cousin Martha Diane had a long luncheon with Cousin Hazel Willis Stein. Cousin Diane (pictured left) is from the 1st Mary Virden-Simpson clan and Cousin Hazel (right) is from the 2nd Millie Freeman-Leonard clan and Aunt Elizabeth, Cousin Mary are from the 3rd Goldie clan. It’s so good to clarify your roots😀. We can match those names with current relatives.

Happy Bend Homecoming photos are in and a good time was had by all in Arkansas. A portion of the Fletchers gathered at the homestead. Of course the Leaphearts were in attendance at Happy Bend. Remembering the 30 acres and the mule on the land where the church stands.

Prayers are needed: Two of Aunt CO’s nieces passed on Sunday. Sharmel Thompson youngest daughter of the lates Gussie & Dewey Thompson had been in Hospice passed Sunday morning in Ft Worth. Deborah “Woody” Thornton, daughter of the lates Frankie & Ivory Thornton passed in her home prior to a “wellness check”. Deborah was the natural sister of Blanche “Lori” Lorraine raised by the lates Corean & Zelmar ( Aunt Co & Uncle Zelmar) who often accompanied Cousin Diane.
