Funeral Services for Christopher Menkhus

Beloved husband of Carol E. Menkhus (nee Stewart); loving father and father-in-law of Michael (Megan) Menkhus-Goins and Abby Menkhus; dear brother of Craig Menkhus, Pam (Larry) Sherron and the late Bill Menkhus; dear son of the late Robert and Eleanor Menkhus; dear son-in-law of the late William and Georgia Stewart; dear brother-in-law of John (Debbie) Stewart, Mary Stewart, Bill (Kelly) Stewart, Dan (Jackie) Stewart and Susan (Steve) Schutz; our dear uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Born in 1963, Chris spent his early years in St. Ann, attending Ritenour High School and completing his Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. After marrying Carol in 1989, Chris spent a too-brief time living in Fort Collins, Colorado, before his career moved him back to the St. Louis area where he would live for the remainder of his life.
Chris was an avid reader, concertgoer, beer connoisseur, St. Louis Blues diehard, and devoted father. While his career, especially his nearly 25 years at Anheuser-Busch, took him across the world, he was never happier than when he was at home with his wife and children, whom he loved and cherished more than anything else. His love, humor, care, and authenticity will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, whether they knew him for a day or for a lifetime.

Visitation at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur on Friday, July 10 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Presentation Church, 8860 Tudor Ave., Overland on Saturday, July 11 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Souls St. Vincent DePaul Society, 9550 Tennyson Ave., Overland, MO 63114 or Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 410395, St. Louis, MO 63141.

Visitation will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3130 Parkwood Ln, Maryland Heights, MO 63043 from 9-11 am on Saturday, July 11th, followed by a Funeral Mass to celebrate Fr. Jim’s life at 11 am. Interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 480 W Highland Rd, Northfield, OH 44067 on July 13th.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mike Huffmon. His service is July 21at OLP. Please call St. Ann for the time.

Thank you to those who shared their beautiful pictures from the Mass at OLP today with Bishop Rice. It was good to see the church full of people who wanted to share his Mass. His first Mass was at OLP years ago.
