Allies of Marquette Park held its annual Marquette Community Day Sunday. The event gets kids both physically and mentally ready to hit the books.

What an AWESOME day! Sometimes we need to get into the community and BE the church. Today we donated 508 backpacks full of school supplies for Marquette Day - a back to school community fair in South St. Louis City. We gave away lots of prizes and spent time with some amazing people. We are grateful to be a part of this program every year and to have the opportunity to demonstrate the Gospel message through serving this beautiful community. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us financially and in prayer.

Summer vacation winds down soon, and that means Marquette Community Day is just around the corner! Celebrate the end of summer and get ready to head back to class at the South Side's biggest back-to-school event!

Every year, Marquette Community Day provides FREE backpacks, school supplies, and a day of fun for hundreds of South Side families! Make sure to bring the family down this year to stock up for school—plus grab a plate, get a haircut, connect with community partners, and even take a horseback ride through Marquette Park!

So it begins! We have obtained the school supplies and the backpacks. This weekend we will fill the backpacks and get them ready to distribute at the back to school event next week. Pleas continue to pray for us as we demonstrate the love of God to families in our city.
