Remember:
The Bible is neither magic, nor is it God. It is a legacy handed down to Christians to help them find a relationship with God that reflects in their relationship with self, others, time, space, and things.

If there is a part of the Bible that does not connect you to Divine Love, do not honor it. Nothing about God could be harmful or violent. If it is, it's not God.

If you've been harmed by the Bible, you don't need it. Jesus established a living community and sent the Spirit to enfuse loving community with Divine Healing.

Seek love, care, mutuality, consent, healing, restoration, goodness, community. If parts of the Bible help you do that, great. Let those inspire you. Do not idolize, fetishize, or use the Bible as a weapon. That's the worst kind of evil idolatry.

If it's not love/ life giving for you don't worry about the Bible, or any faith community that is contrary to that. You were made to thrive in abundance.

And for God's sakes don't create profit around a Bible. There are several free translations online that I use all the time. See the link below.

Hello, I'm Brian. I'm the chaplain that your nurse / social worker told you about.

"Oh hello. I've seen you at the center with other patients."

Yes, I'm glad to see you again.

"What's a chaplain?"

Well, today's elevator pitch is:
I'm trained and experienced to visit with people and listen. Hopefully I listen well enough that folks decide what they think, what they feel, and what they believe about the things they're living through. What are their wishes and what's most important to them?

"That's different!"

Yep. It sure is.
