Honoring Mrs. Coretta Scott King on her 99th birthday. May she rest in power.
She was born April 27, 1927 in Alabama and was an advocate, musician, activist, convener, orator, author, and prominent leader in social justice movements. In 1968, after the assassination of her husband, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. she founded The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. She protested war and apartheid, and homophobia. She is an ancestor who was truly rooted in love. Her work and her wisdom inspires us to continue to rise in liberation.
