On this International Picnic Day, we’ve been thinking about the parallels between picnics and vocations. What could they possibly have in common, you might ask? Quite a lot. Both involve preparation, nourishment, and community.
Think of a vocation like a picnic with God and others: you are invited to bring who you are, share what you have, receive nourishment, and experience the joy of togetherness. Like any picnic, no two vocations look the same. Each one is shaped by your unique gifts, talents, personality, and life experiences.
Consider what you bring to the picnic. What gifts, talents, hopes, or questions are you carrying? For questions about religious life, call or text Lori Benge, Ministry of Vocations Director, at (314) 203-1678.
