Financial Report for the month of May:

This month we received $87 in contributions, $20 of which is earmarked for the pantry, and while we are still waiting on electrical work to be done to fix the AC, we anticipate that the bulk of the remaining $67 (hold the jokes please) will be used to pay the electrician.

We don’t know how much the repair is going to cost, but it’ll probably be around $150-200, so if you have the ability, we would greatly appreciate contributions, they can be sent via Venmo or Cashapp to abbytabby314.

The reality of a small mission like ours is that we operate on a shoestring budget, which is great in some ways, nearly all of our regular contributions go directly to the pantry or direct alms (our “bread and butter” ministry working with the poor of south city), but it also makes it difficult when we have overhead expenses, even as we try to keep them low by operating within our means, having a small chapel in a shared building with the rectory, using reclaimed materials, and doing most of our own repairs.

With electrical work, however, I don’t want anyone to show up for Divine Liturgy and find me fried next to the breaker box, so a professional is needed.

The sacramental tradition of Christianity calls us to participate in the sacraments in person, the authority given to Christ's disciples carries on through the hands of our Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, the Holy Spirit flowing through us to the people of God, and through each one of us as we work in the spiritual communion and community of the Church, and in our own communities, the ones we are called into by birth, place, or our own choices and interests.
