The Mass and reception celebrating World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life was this past Sunday. In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted this day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. Please keep all sisters, brothers and priests in your prayers, as they continue to pray for all of us, as messengers and servants of the peace of Christ.

An initiative of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, the mission of Christ the King Music Festival is to gather musicians from across the Midwest to perform sacred masterworks under the auspices for which the works were created. Pursuant to the Institute's mission to provide "tradition for tomorrow", the festival helps equip its participants with skills, repertoire, and knowledge rarely found in conventional music programs. And by providing a participatory avenue to classical music, the festival bolsters the shared effort to engage the next generation in a living musical tradition. 🎶

For the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life, a number of consecrated religious in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis celebrated Mass together at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis on February 5, followed by a reception.
We pray for those who are consecrated to God by the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. May they always reveal the love of Christ to those they encounter and continue to enrich our world by their dedicated lives of prayer.
