Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Sisters founded by St. Vincent de Paul in Paris in 1633, and by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in the USA in 1809

The Daughters of Charity are a worldwide Society of Apostolic Life called to serve Jesus Christ in the person of the poor and the marginalized. Motivated by the love of Christ and strengthened by a deep prayer life, we live and pray in community, supporting each other in our common mission of service. Like women in other communities, we make vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. What distinguis

hes us, however, is a fourth vow of service of the poor. Another distinction is that Daughters of Charity do not make perpetual vows, but renew them every year on the Feast of the Annunciation, which permits us to choose again our commitment to our God and to the poor.

Ce week-end pour célébrer les 400 de la Lumière de Pentecôte que Sainte Louise de Marillac a reçue en 1623 en l'église Saint Nicolas des Champs à Paris, une messe était célébrée dans cette paroisse. Elle était présidée par le P.Tomaz Mavric supérieur général de la Congrégation pour la Mission.
Après la célébration, Sr Françoise Petit, supérieure Générale des Filles de la Charité, pose près de l'effigie de Sainte Louise avec Tayde de Callataÿ, présidente de l'Association International des Charités AIC International et Sr Hanna Cybula, conseillère spirituelle de l'AIC
Sainte Louise de Marillac a fondé avec Saint Vincent de Paul la compagnie des Filles de la Charité. Auparavant, elle a été la première coordinatrice des Confréries de la Charité.
