This story never gets old! Zaila Avant-Garde, 14, became the first African American champion of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

She won by spelling “Murraya,” defeating 208 contestants from five countries, earning multiple full-ride scholarships.

Also holding three Guinness World Records, Zaila aspires to attend Harvard and play college basketball.
