True story...
You’re standing on a rock with mountains and oceans, spinning around 1,000 miles per hour, orbiting a ball of fire 93 million miles away at 67,000 miles per hour, inside a universe so vast we still cannot find another place like this one. And somehow people say belief in God is the bizarre part.
We already accept strange things.
We accept that one strand of DNA carries more information than entire libraries and contains the instructions involved in forming a human being with eyes, memory, emotion, and the ability to love.
We accept that if gravity shifted slightly, if Earth’s distance from the sun changed, if oxygen levels altered, if the strong nuclear force varied by even a fraction, life as we know it would collapse.
We accept that every cell in the human body functions like a microscopic city, carrying out millions of processes every second.
The human brain is physical. We can study neurons, chemicals, and electrical signals, but none of that explains why we are conscious, why we know right from wrong, why beauty moves us, or why we even ask why we exist.
Science can observe what is happening in the brain, but it cannot explain the soul.
Scripture does.
We are not accidents. We are not highly organized chemicals pretending life has meaning.
We are made in the image of God.
We accept that the universe had a beginning. Time, space, and matter came into existence. Something cannot come from nothing, yet people insist nothing made everything.
And Christians are called irrational?
Romans 1 says creation itself bears witness. Not that every person knows every detail about God, but that His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived through what has been made.
The heavens declare glory. The atom obeys laws. Stars burn with precision. Water expands when frozen, allowing aquatic life to survive. The moon stabilizes Earth’s tilt. The sun sits at a distance that sustains life. Your heart beats without your permission.
The strange thing is not belief.
The strange thing is standing in a universe overflowing with order, information, beauty, laws, consciousness, morality, and life… and insisting there is no Mind behind it.
Christianity is not asking people to believe in something less reasonable than reality. It is saying reality itself points beyond itself.
Not to an unknown force.
To a Creator.
And not merely a Creator, but the God who entered His own creation in Christ.
People act like faith means closing your eyes. Biblical faith opens them.
“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” Psalm 14:1
Not because atheists are unintelligent, but because suppressing what creation constantly proclaims requires ignoring fingerprints left on everything.
