Why do we as Christians pray for more laborers?

Imagine, just for a moment, that Jesus is who He says He is. What would that mean for your life? What would that mean for the millions of people who don’t yet know Him? We believe that He chose to partner with US to tell people about Him. There are many across the world who are longing for this freedom, love and truth Himself, but need to have an encounter with one of His partners, a laborer.

We pray each day at 10:02 for these laborers. “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field” (Luke 10:2) We pray that nations can be reached and loved truly.

TOMORROW, Oct. 2, We Live Missions will be live every hour, praying across every time zone and learning more about the need. Would you join the movement by tuning in and texting “xapray” to 313131?

This week will you join us in praying for Kingdom Community for students feeling lonely or isolated?

We pray that first year students, especially, are able to cultivate deep friendships during this season of being scattered and at home. We pray that our small group leaders across Chi Alpha would be able to connect with students needing community and needing genuine friendships. We pray that each student would feel the conviction to live life on mission with one another.

OFFICIAL TWMS5 ANNOUNCEMENT:

After seeking prayer and wisdom, our team has decided that it is in the best interest for our Chi Alpha students, staff, and world missionaries to postpone TWMS5.

We believe that TWMS5 is going to be the biggest and best Summit yet! We don’t want to allow circumstance to hinder the event itself or the health of students and missionaries. We also know how powerful of an experience the Summit is in the lives of many, so much so, that we think it is worth waiting for rather than having virtually.

We believe that God is going to use this extended time leading up to the Summit to continue our culture of intimate community, relational discipleship, and earnest prayer. The nations must still be reached for His glory and we will gather together again when God permits it.

We ask you, Chi Alpha nation, to unify together in prayer and in hope as we hold true to the urgency of the Great Commission, while using discernment in how to best fulfill it during these unprecedented times. We trust the Lord’s timing and guidance throughout this crisis, and we look forward to gathering together again as a movement in St. Louis.

Did you know that The World Missions Summit is built on 5 primary components?

1. The Gathering: The large group component of TWMS5 where we will worship corporately, hear real time global reports and stories and be powerfully challenged by relevant messages delivered by missionaries living their faith around the world.

2. Meals with a missionary: At the first meal, students can choose to sit wherever they like. This will become your designated table throughout the entire conference. During the four meals provided by the conference, the participants will sit at the same table and missionaries will rotate. Each table will be hosted by a different missionary each meal. During the meal, participants will hear the missionary’s “story”, be able to ask questions and process their TWMS5 experience.

3. Windows to the world: Interactive experiences representing the various regions and ministries around the world. Here, you will get an idea of the sights, sounds, smells and challenges facing the mission field. You will also hear the needs in each region or ministry and ways you can assist in meeting them.

4. Prayer for the nations: Prayer is part of the 5-Fold Philosophy of Ministry in Chi Alpha. We daily seek God’s face and depend on Him in every way to give us direction. For this very reason, we will be gathering every day throughout The Summit for a deliberate time of transformative prayer for every nation of the world! In addition to the corporate prayer times that we will have each morning, we have dedicated a room near the main hall where The Gatherings will happen for students and leaders to come and seek God’s face for the Nations!

5. Exhibits: State of the art and designed to provide resources or opportunities for service. Exhibitors at TWMS5 are not vendors! Here you can meet with missionaries and ministers, ask questions, and drink coffee.

These components are designed to inspire, mobilize, and empower students to change the world.
