Personal Freedom Outreach

Personal Freedom Outreach PFO was founded to provide Christians with material to help them know why they believe what they believe.

Personal Freedom Outreach is a non-profit, non-denominational group with three goals: to educate Christians about the dangers and heretical doctrines of religious cults, to use the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach members of those cults and to warn Christians of unbiblical teachings within the church itself. Please see http://tinyurl.com/3b7lpz8 for information about our upcoming Conference on Biblical Discernment.

DID YOU KNOW? Hermeneutics is to many an unfamiliar word, but it's meaning is something that most Christians are familiar with -- how we interpret the Scriptures. A good understanding of how we interpret Scripture is vital in order to avoid being deceived by not only the cults, but by the "grievous wolves" who have entered in among you, not sparing the flock (Acts 20:29).

DID YOU KNOW? The Apostle Paul desired that we become stable in the faith to prevent us from running after each new religious fad. "We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming" (Eph. 4:14).

DID YOU KNOW? Creeds are important to the Church because: (1) They express briefly and succinctly what is believed and taught about the Trinity and the Christian faith. (2) They were formed for the purpose of making known to prospective converts precisely the tenets of Christianity. (3) They were established in order to combat error -- to defend the faith.

DID YOU KNOW? Creed comes from the Latin word "creedo" meaning "I believe." Creeds (Nicene Creed, Apostles' Creed) were the early church's response to heresy.

DID YOU KNOW? "The Scriptures are the foundation, the bedrock, of sound doctrine. They are the written Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible, which includes the teachings of Jesus and the apostles, is the source of sound doctrine." (The Quarterly Journal, July - September 2020)

"Sound doctrine is vital to the health and life of the child of God. By contrast, unsound doctrine can stunt a believer's growth, neutralize a Christian's effectiveness for God, or worse. ... Sound doctrine produces spiritual health." (The Quarterly Journal, July -- September 2020)

"The Trinity describes who the God of the Bible is within Himself. ... Although the Old Testament does not reveal the doctrine of the Trinity with the clarity of the New Testament, we can see indications of it. ...There are New Testament passages that show all three members of the Trinity together." (The Quarterly Journal, October -- December 2020)
