Tonight’s message: Be a Peacemaker

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Strife is like two cars traveling toward one another when one driver decides to cross the center line. The lines are there for protection, but trouble begins when someone refuses to stay in their lane.

A peacemaker:

• Does not have to dominate every conversation.
• Does not feel responsible to correct everyone.
• Knows when to speak and when to remain silent.
• Refuses to add fuel to conflict.
• Brings calm, grace, and the spirit of Christ into the room.
• Pursues restoration—not victory.

Every home, church, and relationship needs someone who will lower the temperature instead of raising it. We cannot always control the conduct of others, but we can choose what spirit we bring into the situation.

Don’t be the person who creates the strife. Be the person God uses to bring peace.

“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace.” — Romans 14:19

What a wonderful day at St. Clair Baptist Church!

On this Sunday before Labor Day, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful spirit in our services, 15 visitors, and the joy of seeing one precious soul follow the Lord in baptism at the river!

We are so thankful for the strong sense of God’s presence in our midst and for a church family that continues to stand united—striving together, loving one another, and loving Jesus.

Thank you, church family, for your faithfulness, your unity, and the wonderful spirit you bring each week. God is doing something special, and we give Him all the praise and glory!

“To God be the glory, great things he hath done.”
—Psalm 126:3

There is a difference between a CHURCH-CENTERED life and a CHRIST-CENTERED life.

A church-centered life asks: “How can I fit God into my life?”

A Christ-centered life asks: “How can God use my life?”

Church involvement is important, but Jesus never asked for just a piece of us. He said, “Follow me.” Don’t just attend church.

LIVE FOR JESUS

I want to take a moment to thank everyone at St. Clair Baptist Church for your wonderful cooperation during today’s severe-weather warning.

Our adults quickly moved to the designated shelter area beneath the main structure, while our children and their workers safely moved into the basement. Everyone remained calm, followed instructions, and worked together to ensure that every person was accounted for and protected.

I’m grateful for the teamwork and caring spirit our church family demonstrated today. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Love in Christ,

Pastor Jim

Our world has no shortage of opinions. Everyone can identify what is broken, criticize who is responsible, and offer another temporary solution. But opinions cannot forgive sin, restore a family, quiet an anxious heart, or give hope beyond the grave.

The Bible does more than describe our problems—it leads us to the One who has the power to change our lives. If Jesus Christ is not the answer, then who is?
