In 2018, during the tragic Parkland school shooting, 15-year-old Anthony Borges showed extraordinary courage. As chaos unfolded, he used his own body to block the classroom door, stopping the gunman from entering. Despite being shot five times, Anthony’s quick thinking and selfless act prevented the attacker from reaching his classmates.

His bravery saved the lives of 20 students that day, making him one of the most remarkable heroes of the tragedy. After a long and difficult recovery, Anthony fully healed and became a symbol of resilience and strength, remembered for his sacrifice and the lives he protected.

Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Sergeant Isaiah Emenheiser and Detective Mark Baker of the Northern York County Regional Police Department were killed in an ambush that wounded two other officers. The suspect opened fire with a rifle equipped with a suppressor as the officers entered the door.
