Detroit Catholic Cursillo Movement

Detroit Catholic Cursillo Movement A gathering place for people involved or interested in the Detroit Catholic Cursillo Movement. What is the Cursillo Movement? It is like the sacraments.

To explain the Cursillo, which is Spanish for "short course", to someone who has not experienced it is, at best, difficult - not because Cursillo is a secret, but because it is a living experience only fully understood when experienced first hand. Someone can explain them to you, but that only helps the experience. It does not replace the experience. The Cursillo experience is unique to each perso

n because no one can fully explain how God touches a person. Christ, through the Cursillo and through His grace, touches the person who is open to a personal relationship with Him in a special way and the person is never the same after as they were before.

Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

As we celebrate this joyful Easter season, I offer you my heartfelt prayers and warmest wishes. May the Resurrection of our Lord fill each of your hearts with renewed hope, deep peace, and lasting joy. Easter reminds us that even in moments of struggle, darkness never has the final word—God’s love and life always triumph.

I am deeply grateful for each of you and for the faith, friendship, and dedication you bring to our Cursillo community. Your witness to Christ’s love continues to inspire and strengthen those around you. May you go forth in this season with courage and confidence, sharing the Good News with all you encounter, especially those who feel forgotten or burdened.

Let us pray that the Risen Christ blesses our families, our Diocese of Detroit, and all those we serve. May He guide us to be faithful disciples, always ready to bring His light into the world.

Know that you are in my prayers in a special way during this holy season. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joyful Easter.

Invitation to the Detroit Cursillo Community

Dear Detroit Cursillo Community,

With great joy and hope, we invite all members of the Detroit Cursillo community to gather for a powerful day of faith, renewal, and fellowship at the “Rising from the Ashes” Eucharistic Revival on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, 7:30 am till 9pm at Huntington Place in Detroit.

This special gathering will be a time for us to come together as a community rooted in Christ, to rekindle our love for the Eucharist, and to witness the transformative power of God working in our lives and in our city. Inspired by the image of rising from the ashes, this revival is an opportunity for spiritual renewal, healing, and a deeper encounter with Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament.

Throughout the day, participants will experience inspiring speakers, communal prayer, the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament & procession, and ending with great worship Music. As Cursillistas, we are called to live our Fourth Day with courage and joy, bringing Christ into our environments, and this event offers a meaningful moment to strengthen that mission together, as well as pass on the gift of what Cursillo means to Detroit. I am proud to announce that we are sharing in this event as a sponsor and will have the opportunity to evangelize our great Diocese with a booth in the Ministry Fair area, there we can share with everyone the power of Christ in Cursillo. We warmly encourage all Cursillistas, friends, and families to attend and to invite others who may be seeking hope, faith, and community.

Let us gather as one body in Christ to celebrate the gift of the Eucharist and to be renewed in spirit as we continue our journey of faith.

De Colores!
With prayers and anticipation,

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With grateful hearts, we invite you to come and share an Agape Lunch and Reflection Time with the Detroit Cursillo Community on February 28th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Maryville Retreat Center.

This will be a sacred time to pause, pray, reflect, and reconnect—gathering as one body in Christ to share fellowship, faith, and love. An Agape lunch will be lovingly prepared and served, and all that is asked of you is to come and be present in community.

A SignUpGenius will be sent out soon so we may RSVP and prepare for all who feel called to attend.

We look forward to what the Holy Spirit will do when we gather together. May this time be one of renewal, joy, and grace for us all.

God bless you abundantly,
Detroit Cursillo Secretariat
