A few weeks ago our Pastor spoke in his sermon about forgiveness. He said when we pray, "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us", we are praying for God to forgive us like we forgive other people. So...how do you forgive others? How do you want God to forgive you? It was something that has stayed with me.
We don't deserve God's forgiveness. My sins are no less than anyone else and I need that forgiveness, desperately! If I don't deserve it and yet He gives it to me so freely upon my repentance, then who am I to withhold forgiveness from anyone else?!
May the power of the Holy Spirit fill you, my friend. May you forgive those who hurt you and wrong you. Forgive those who hurt the ones you love. Be free of the weight it causes. And may you go, freely, to your Savior with a repentant heart seeking His most precious forgiveness for yourself. As you do, you will know that you go with an open spirit unhindered by grudges to receive what He has for you! My beautiful friend, that is power - power in Him, through Him, and by Him!! To Him, our Father, be glory and praise.
