OSLC Women's Ministry

OSLC Women's Ministry This page is meant to keep women in the Word and love of God through uplifting messages, Scripture, and encouraging words.

We will be giving your day a little pick-me-up by sharing humor, encouragement, support, and love through God's Word, positive thoughts, and Christ-centered messages. We will post invitations and information on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, pictures, and anything else that may be uplifting to women. We are here to build one another up in the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus while encouraging you to be a strong and faithful woman of God.

Labor Day is almost upon us and it's a great time to pause and remember that rest is essential to health and wellness, and a deep relationship with God.

Jesus took time to rest. He would go off on His own and spend intentional time with His Father. If He needed it, why on earth wouldn't we?!

We are told to 'be still' numerous times throughout His Word. Stop rushing, stop fixing, and just be...be in the quiet...be alone with God...be still and open your heart to His beauty and goodness.

Meditate on His Word...

Let's not forget, God has blessed you with this day. It is sacred and should be lived to His glory!! You are His most beloved daughter, receive this day as that beautiful gift from your loving Father.

“Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Neh 8:10

Heavenly Father,
Help me trust in Your will.
Help me rely on Your will.
As I lay my petitions at Your feet, help me trust in Your beautiful plan for my messy life. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Do you ever have days when you just feel 'off'. Maybe you didn't get enough sleep. Maybe you're worried about health. Maybe the car wouldn't start. Whatever it is, things just don't feel right. They feel 'ick'. My experience says the best way to get rid of that feeling is to rejoice, worship, praise the God who is faithful through every storm of life. There is no room for 'ick' when your heart is focused on worshiping Jesus!

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-8

What does this supper mean to you? It is our response to the command Christ gave as he gathered with His disciples for their final meal together. We do it in remembrance of Him. We take His body, His blood, His sacrifice and we remember. We remember the love Jesus has for us. A love that brought him to this sin-ridden world. A love that He showed every day he walked this earth. A love that led Him through ridicule, persecution, torture, and death. A love He showers over us today, in all of our hurting, heartache, sinfulness, and shame.
Lord have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
In remembrance we gather. In remembrance, we share. In remembrance, we partake. In remembrance, we forgive as we have been forgiven. In remembrance, we worship and praise the One True Triune God. Father. Son. Holy Spirit.
To Him be all glory, honor, and praise.

That's an accomplishment! We tend to get lost in our current circumstances or caught in the anxiety of what might be coming. There is no better testament of God's faithfulness in our lives than to look at the fact He has been there and led us through every situation, every problem, every struggle. And His plans are always beautiful and so much better than ours.

Do you ever feel like you go unnoticed? Do you ever think that you don't matter?
Do you ever wish someone would validate you?
Sister, you ARE seen! You are not only seen, you are adored by the very One that created you, that called you into existence. Your purpose is in HIM. The mountains bow down to Him, the seas obey His command. The angels laud and magnify Him. And He calls YOU by name. He watches you with the eyes of a loving Father. He knows precisely what you're experiencing in every fiber of your being.

Stop in this moment, close your eyes, lift a prayer of praise to Him. Take a deep breath and release it. Take another and release. Whatever this day holds for you, He goes with you, He sees you, He knows you, and your worth is in Him alone!
