St. John AME The African Methodist Episcopal Church was founded by a group of freed slaves who desired a place t Charles." How can we make such a claim? St. John is ALIVE!!!

St.John AME Church has enthusiastically declared ourselves to be, hands down, the "Friendliest Church in St. Well, it's certainly "not that we have attained, but we are are pressing toward the high mark which is in Christ Jesus" Philippians 3:12. It is by faith that we make such a claim, knowing that faith with works is ALIVE! Our members live out the commission of Christ to "go into all the world

." We serve in food pantries, schools and jails. Our members serve as sponsors to those in recovery and mentors to those on life's journey. We connect people with resources and we pray for one another. John participates in community ministries such as the Community Garden and Bible studies sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance. We serve the homeless and we empower the jobless. We are growing in friendship with Christ and community! We are working out the wrinkles that come with life and we are transforming more into the image of Christ.
