Back to School Skate Night ⛸️

Last Monday, we celebrated the coming of a new school year with kids and families from New City! This has been a long-standing tradition at New City and is always a highlight of the summer.

Events like this are a big part of our goal of forging friendships. It’s more than just an skate night, it’s an opportunity for kids and families to spend time together, build relationships, and strengthen the community we’re grateful to be a part of.

We’re excited for another school year together!

New City Camp 2026

Our first ever New City Family Camp was a hit!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend happen, and to Encounter Cove for hosting us. It’s so special being able to spend extended time together as a church family — making memories, playing games, getting out on the lake, and simply doing life together.

Every Sunday, we gather to worship, pray, learn from Scripture, and share life together. These aren’t just parts of a service, they’re practices that shape us into people who live more like Jesus.

As we learn to live the way of Jesus, our prayer is that our neighbors would encounter the person of Jesus through us. That’s why we gather, and it’s why we scatter every week.

Romans Week 12 — God’s Sacrifice for Humanity

The ancient world understood religion as humanity sacrificing for the gods. Whether through offerings, rituals, or even human sacrifice, the question was always: What must we give so the gods will be pleased with us?

Then the gospel completely flips that idea upside down.

The message of Jesus is not humanity sacrificing for God, but God sacrificing for humanity. God comes down in the Son, suffers, and dies a criminal’s death for the very people who rejected Him.

No wonder the Romans struggled with the gospel. It wasn’t just a new religion, it was a completely different kind of kingdom, centered on a God unlike any they had ever known.
