Sanctification & Christian Living -
After salvation, the work of sanctification begins in every believer. This is the lifelong process by which God, through the Holy Spirit, conforms us to the image of Christ. Salvation delivers us from the penalty of sin; sanctification delivers us from the power of sin as we grow in holiness.
Sanctification is seen in the daily life of the believer through:
• Growth in holiness — becoming more like Christ
• Separation unto God — living set apart for His glory
• Walking in obedience — submitting to God’s Word and will
• Spiritual maturity — growing in discernment and faith
• Perseverance — continuing faithfully in the Christian life
“The faith that trusts Christ to justify us, must also trust Christ to sanctify us.”
— D.L. Moody
Scripture:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
(John 17:17, KJV)
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification…”
(1 Thessalonians 4:3, KJV)
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
(Philippians 1:6, KJV)
Sanctification is not about earning God’s favor, but about living out the new life we have received in Christ—walking daily in obedience, growing in holiness, and persevering by the grace of God.
From salvation to sanctification, the Gospel transforms us and His Spirit conforms us into the likeness of Christ.✝️
