❄️ CHURCH UPDATE – SERVICE CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER ❄️
Even though the snow has kept us apart for the second week in a row, the Word of God continues to go forth.
This week we reflect on the Advent theme of Peace and consider an important question:
Are you missing peace in your life?
Peace in your home?
Your marriage?
Your workplace?
Your decisions?
Your walk with God?
Jesus tells us in John 14 that true peace comes only from Him—not from the world, not from circumstances, but from His presence.
Peace is not the absence of storms.
Peace is the presence of Jesus in the storm.
Throughout Scripture, we see this truth in action:
• The three Hebrew boys stood unharmed in the fire.
• Daniel rested in the lions’ den.
• Jesus slept peacefully through a violent storm.
In each moment, God did not remove the trouble—but He remained with His people in it.
Scripture also teaches that peace flows from righteousness and obedience:
Where obedience is present, peace is present.
Where righteousness grows, peace grows.
We can also find a powerful reminder in Job 38:22–23, where God speaks of the storehouses of snow—reserved for times of battle and trouble.
Even the snow, something we often view as an inconvenience or interruption, is under His command and purpose.
If God can store up snow for His plans, then surely He can hold and protect the peace we need for ours.
Nothing in creation is outside His control, and nothing in your life is outside His care.
This Advent, we remember that Jesus came to make His home with us (John 14:23).
He is not distant.
He is near.
And where He dwells, His peace dwells.
A Sending Prayer for Your Week
“May the Prince of Peace guard your heart and steady your mind.
Where peace is missing, may righteousness be restored.
Where fear rises, may faith rise higher.
May the presence of Jesus fill your home, your family, your decisions, and your future with His perfect peace.
Go in His strength, His comfort, and His peace.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Stay safe, stay warm, and may the peace of Christ be with you this Advent season. 🕊️
