Today is Trinity Sunday. This is always the Sunday following Pentecost on the Church liturgical calendar. This is a unique day on the Church calendar because it doesn’t celebrate a particular biblical event, but instead a core doctrine of the Christian faith. The doctrine of the church does it’s best to help us understand, but as to how God can be three and still one will never be something that we can fully understand. Yet Jesus in his ministry wants us to know about the work and persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Church has had great debate in growing to understand this important aspect of who God is. So today we worship with the help of Matthew 28:16-20, to sit with the mystery, as we lift our hearts to our Triune God. See you at 10:15!

Sunday School Classes are offered for ages 3 and up at 9:00 am!

We hope you are able to join us for worship at 10:15am, in person and on our livestream.

Today is Pentecost, the day we remember the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church! We welcome new members and celebrate baptism as we see the way that the power of the Holy Spirit enters into the world and changes the lives of those who are gathered. The fisherman and revolutionaries that were Jesus’ disciples are inspired to not return to their ordinary lives and change the world. Acts 2:1-12 will help lead our hearts in worship today. See you at 10:15!

In the quiet sanctuaries of our own hearts,
let each of us name and call on the One whose power over us
is great and gentle, firm and forgiving, holy and healing ...

You who created us,
who sustain us,
who call us to live in peace,
hear our prayer this day.

Hear our prayer for all who have died,
whose hearts and hopes are known to you alone ...

Hear our prayer for those who put the welfare of others
ahead of their own
and give us hearts as generous as theirs ...

Hear our prayer for those who gave their lives
in the service of others,
and accept the gift of their sacrifice ...

Help us to shape and make a world
where we will lay down the arms of war
and turn our swords into ploughshares
for a harvest of justice and peace ...

Comfort those who grieve the loss of their loved ones
and let your healing be the hope in our hearts...

Hear our prayer this day
and in your mercy answer us
in the name of all that is holy.

The peace of God be with you.

God is Spirit. Jesus talks about this in John 4. This is probably one of those truths of the faith that we shake our heads in agreement with, but what does it really mean? It means that God is everywhere all the time, but in experience since we cannot see the Spirit it is hard to wrap our heads around what that means practically. We may not solve all the answers, but we will help prepare our hearts for Pentecost next week as we consider Holy Spirit, Where Art Thou? Matthew 27:45-54 will help guide our hearts this morning. See you at 10:15!

Last week, we heard about the Father’s love, so it only seems appropriate that today we hear about a mother’s love. Motherhood is a powerful force that not only builds strong families but nations as well. Mothers are more likely to plant the seeds of faith in Jesus in children. Mothers who are connected to their emotions tend to raise children who can find joy and hold onto hope even during times of loss. However, even mothers with strong faith face challenges that may cause them to stumble. Sometimes, we need to turn to Jesus just as children turn to their mothers, because He loves us unconditionally, and His love—stronger than death—cannot be taken from us.

Looking forward to joining together for worship on this Mother's Day at 10:15. If you are unable to join us in person, this link will take you to our stream:

As we approach worship this Sunday and prepare to come to the Lord’s table, we are invited to pause and consider the distance—measured not in steps, but in attentiveness—between our hearts and Jesus. Are we drawing near in trust, or lingering at the edges in distraction, pride, or weariness? Communion is not a reward for closeness nor a barrier for distance; it is the gracious invitation of a loving Father who calls us to come just as we are. As we prepare for worship, may we open our hearts honestly and receive again the mercy, grace, and joy offered at the table. See you at 10:15!
