🏠 HELP US REACH TORNADO SURVIVORS

The April tornadoes changed lives across Parker County. While the immediate response may be over, many families are still recovering—and some may still need help.

The Long-Term Recover Group, along with UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief and United Way of Parker County is organizing neighborhood outreach teams to walk areas impacted by the April tornadoes and connect with survivors who may still need assistance.

We’re looking for volunteers who are willing to:
• Walk assigned neighborhoods with a small team
• Check in with residents and listen to their needs
• Share information about available resources
• Identify families who may have been missed during the initial response

You don’t have to be a disaster expert. You just have to be willing to show up, listen, and help.

Tonight, as the smoke covers the sky in the distance, we invite the community to join in prayer for those in the path of the wildfires.

Pray for families who have been evacuated, for those who have lost homes, land, livestock, belongings, and livelihoods, and for those who are waiting anxiously for news. Pray for neighbors and volunteers working to move cattle and protect the land from the path of the fires.

Pray for firefighters, first responders, emergency personnel, and all those working hard to protect communities.

Pray for rain, for safety, for strength, and for relief.

Please continue to pray and check back for updates as we learn how we may be asked to help.

You may have already seen them around the church as they meet with members of our community who have been affected by the storms. If you haven’t had a chance to meet them yet, be sure to stop by and introduce yourself!

We are grateful and excited to partner with Texas Health Resources, UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief, and Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church to bring this important resource to our community. Together, they are offering a place of healing, support, and hope for those navigating the aftermath of the storms.
