Many people may not realize that May is recognized as Military Appreciation Month. As we close out the month of May, we want to take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and never returned home to their loved ones.

We also remember those who are still Missing in Action (MIA). Our hearts and prayers remain with their families, and we continue to hope that one day they will be brought home and reunited with those who love them.

This special video is dedicated to the memory of our fallen heroes and serves as a tribute to their service, sacrifice, and legacy. It also highlights the wonderful people and community of Springport, who continue to support and honor our nation’s veterans and military families.

May we never forget the cost of freedom and the courage of those who have served our country.

What a blessing and an honor it was to serve and show our appreciation to the veterans of our community last night. We were also honored to recognize several retired police officers who joined us for this special evening. While the event was focused on honoring our veterans, we believe it is equally important to acknowledge and appreciate the men and women who have served our communities as first responders. Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting and serving others deserve our gratitude and respect as well.

Thank you to each and every one of you who joined us for this special evening. It was truly a privilege to gather together to honor the men and women who have faithfully served our country.

We were also honored to have special guest speaker Ernie Bywater (Chaplain - Springfield, MO) with us. His heartfelt message and testimony was a meaningful part of the evening and an encouragement to all who attended. We are grateful for the wisdom, perspective, and inspiration he shared with our veterans, their families, and our community.

We pray you enjoyed our time together and felt the love, gratitude, and respect we have for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. We love our community, and we are deeply thankful for every veteran, retired first responder, and military family represented.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible—especially those who assisted with preparations beforehand and those who served during our Veterans Dinner of Honor. Your time, dedication, and servant hearts helped make the evening a tremendous success.

May God richly bless our veterans, first responders, their families, and our community. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to protecting the freedoms and safety we enjoy each day.

I spent the entire day thinking about whether I should share this incredible experience, and finally realized I couldn’t go to bed without sharing with everyone just how amazing and loving our Heavenly Father is to each of us! We also want everyone to know that Life360 Springport Church truly loves and cares about the residents of the Village of Springport and surrounding areas.

On Friday, April 10th, my husband Harry and I were invited to the World Prayer Center in Springfield, Missouri, arriving early at approximately 7:30 a.m. We joined our friends in a special prayer room featuring a large glass map on the floor that highlights specific regions for focused prayer.

While we were there, each of us had the opportunity to share information about our respective communities and then take time to pray for each community. When Springport Village appeared on the map, I positioned myself directly over it as others gathered around Harry and me. They gently laid hands on us and prayed, and together we lifted up the entire community. We petitioned God to move in the hearts of the residents, to draw them closer to Him, and to reach those who may feel forgotten, alone, or hurting - those who are especially in need of His love.

Later that afternoon, we learned about the school shutdown and the threats that had been made that same day. Our hearts were filled with relief upon hearing that everyone was safe and that no one was harmed.

As the day progressed, the significance of the event truly sank in. We had been praying for Springport early that very morning, possibly even before the events had unfolded.

It was a powerful reminder that God was already at work, watching over and protecting the people of Springport. We are deeply grateful to serve a loving Heavenly Father who sees every need, even before we are aware of it. God clearly loves Springport Village, and we are blessed to be part of a great community. ! ! !

This past week, Harry and I had the blessing of being in Springfield, Missouri, where I completed my chaplaincy credentials through the Assembly of God. It was an incredible experience connecting with our chaplaincy cohort and meeting inspiring pastors from rural communities.

At the beginning of our journey, we were grateful to visit our church family at Life360 Chesterfield with Pastors Ted and Robbin Cederblom and later enjoy a wonderful Easter dinner with some of our dear friends, Pastors Evelyn and Sam Klinger.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kim and Dr. Laurel Harvey for creating such a meaningful week filled with continued learning, hands-on experiences in rural Missouri, genuine fellowship, and, of course, wonderful guest speakers and food along the way!

Friday was truly a day to remember—we started bright and early at the World Prayer Center and ended with an incredible visit to Sight & Sound, where we were blessed to experience the live performance of David.

And our post would not be complete without thanking our host family, John and Renee Michno, for graciously housing us during our visit. Your hospitality meant so much to both of us!
