Courage isn't easy. That's kind of the point. But neither is life!

Faced with ever-evolving forces of division and distraction, courage (what Brené Brown calls "a heart word") asks us to dig deep, to make choices, to decide how we will live... not in spite of -- but because of -- the fact that we will not live forever.

We all hate peer pressure, right? But what about gym buddies? What about living in ways that can inspire, or heal? What about community organizing? What about teamwork?

This Sunday, we continue our exploration of courage by training our gaze on collective courage, on what happens when people are brave together. In a world such as this, with the many challenges we face, is there any greater calling for a community like this than courageously embodying a new way together?

Join us for Workship Sunday starting at 9:30AM (in person) and 11AM (in person and online). Please allow a few extra minutes of travel time as the "Rays of Hope" walk will be going down Porter Lake Drive.

Everyone is courageous. Especially when working together.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the histories, cultures, wisdom, and enduring presence of Indigenous peoples and communities.

This day is both a celebration and a call to reflection and action. We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonization, displacement, and injustice, while recognizing the resilience, leadership, and contributions of Indigenous peoples who continue to shape our world.

As Unitarian Universalists, our commitment to justice, equity, and interdependence calls us to move beyond acknowledgment toward meaningful solidarity—listening to Indigenous voices, respecting Tribal sovereignty, honoring treaty rights, and supporting Indigenous-led efforts to protect their lands, cultures, and communities.

May we remember that Indigenous history is not only history. Indigenous peoples are here, their cultures are living and evolving, and their futures deserve our solidarity and support.

Today, on National Coming Out Day, we celebrate the courage, joy, and authenticity of LGBTQIA+ people who are coming out, whether for the first time, in a new space, or in new ways throughout their lives. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Coming out is not always a single moment. It can be a lifelong journey of discovering, embracing, and sharing who we are. For some, it is joyful and liberating. For others, it comes with uncertainty, vulnerability, or risk. Every journey is different, and everyone deserves the freedom to choose if, when, and how they come out.

As Unitarian Universalists, we affirm the inherent worthiness of every person and our shared responsibility to create communities where LGBTQIA+ people are not simply welcomed, but fully celebrated, supported, and loved.

To everyone coming out, wherever you are in your journey:

You are worthy of love and belonging, exactly as you are.Your identity is yours to share on your own terms.

May we continue building a world where living authentically is met with love, dignity, and safety.

Last weekend, we enjoyed a beautiful weekend for our inaugural FALLFEST, full of fun and meaningful activities as we gathered to celebrate the kick off to our fall programming. Thank you to all who attended, participated, and shared their talents, and time together. A special thank you to the team of organizers, the workshop presenters, the cooks, hosts, performers, childcare staff and facilitators. We hope to do more events like this soon!
