Our summer reading incentive awards were handed out earlier this week in chapel! A full list of winners and participants will be included in the Eagle Eye on Monday. Great job, readers!
Mrs. Eyth would like to remind you that our first-quarter reading incentive has started! This quarter, your child is working to get a BINGO on the reading incentive board.
We already have 5 BINGOs so far! When your child completes a BINGO, please bring the board to Mrs. Eyth. She will give your child a piece of candy, enter their name for a chance to win a gift card, and return the board so they can continue working toward completing the entire board. If they complete the whole board, they will receive 2 additional entries for the gift card drawing!
There is also an incentive for the student who completes the most LA IXLs this quarter. The winner will receive a gift card!
Need an extra bingo board? Copies are available at the information station outside the gym.
• Grades K–3: Yellow boards
• Grades 4–8: Blue boards
Happy reading!

Science Oriented Thinkers - The seventh grade’s first lab of the year involved putting some puzzle pieces together to make a square. That was easy enough. Then, Mrs. Davenport gave each group a new piece and had them make a square out of all the pieces including the new one! This task proved much harder!

In science, we sometimes get new information that doesn’t always fit with the organized data we already have. Scientists have to be flexible and open-minded in order to figure out how the new piece fits with the rest of the puzzle.

Equipped for the 2026-2027 School Year – We finished the first week of school learning about each other: new teachers, new students, new activities and routines, new classrooms, and even new friends. Our teachers are equipping our students to succeed in all of these new things as they guide students in the transitions: to kindergarten, to having lockers, and always learning more about Jesus.

Our Savior’s Ice Cream Social – What a great turn out for our annual Ice Cream Social and School Supply Drop-off earlier this month! Families enjoyed ice cream, were able to see friends again after the summer break, visited classrooms, learn how they can get involved, and dropped off school supplies. We are diving right in to the 2026-2027 school year!

6th Grade Science - The 6th grade was asked to do the impossible in their first lab: fit an entire person through an index card. While many groups came close, no one figured out how to do it. After showing the students the solution, Mrs. Davenport discussed why they did this lab. First, science is full of seemingly impossible problems that have been solved—think space travel, cures, etc. Second, being in a Lutheran school gives us the opportunity to reflect on the fact that although things seem bleak, NOTHING is impossible with God!
