WINTER COAT DRIVE
October 12-30
Temperatures will be growing cooler. Our minds will soon be turning to winter coats. The first grade has formed a Thrivent Action Team to collect new winter coats for kids. We will be participating in cross curricular activities in learning how to reach out to others in need. We will deliver the coats to the Green Stores as part of their Coats for Kids winter coat drive for distribution in our community. Our drive will take place from October 12-30. Coats can be placed in the blue boxes near the school and church entrances. Thank you for your support.

Small Group Learning – Our Savior’s teachers and volunteers work together to provide small group learning. These small groups provide opportunities for targeted, personalized instruction that bridges the gap between whole-class teaching and one-on-one support.

The teachers have been working on a project called "Portrait of a Teacher" over the past year. This means we spent time diving into what it means to be a teacher at Our Savior's and what standard we want to hold ourselves to as professionals and teachers of the Word. We finalized this project by putting it together in this image, categorizing our criteria into 3 groups - Christ-Centered, Curriculum, and Community.

A Portrait of a Teacher describes who we are and what we strive to be as educators at Our Savior’s Lutheran School. Rooted in Christ, connected as a community, and committed to strong curriculum and learning, these statements reflect the values, relationships, and practices that guide us as we serve and teach our students.

Our Savior’s is so blessed to be staffed with workers who do more than work. They genuinely care and devote themselves to the families and students they serve. Bring your Bible to School Day- Bring Your Bible to School Day is designed to be a creative expression of our faith, which flows from the joy and hope we all have in Jesus.
At Our Savior’s we are blessed to not only bring our Bibles to school each and every day, but be in the Word of God each and every day. It is our prayer that as we read Holy Scriptures, God grants us to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which God has given us in our Savior Jesus Christ.

The Adult Instruction Class is a class for new adult members and current members who would like to review the basic teachings of the scriptures as we have come to learn them in Luther's Small Catechism. This class is the pathway to membership at Our Savior's for those who do not come from a Lutheran background. We will study the 10 Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacraments, and the Lutheran teaching on worship, the scriptures, and the Christian life.

The class will meet on Sundays from 11:10am – 12:00pm beginning October 18 in the Church Meeting Room (near church entrance).

5th Graders Tackled Decimals and Escaped the Locker Room!
Students put their math skills to the test in a football-themed Decimal Escape Room, working together to compare, round, add, and subtract decimals and solve real-world decimal problems.
Along the way, they practiced more than math—they used teamwork, perseverance, problem-solving, and communication to complete each challenge and make it to the “big game!”
Our teachers love creating opportunities for our students to learn, collaborate, and have fun while doing it!
