Anger — Mark 3:1–6
This Sunday we're looking at the fire inside all of us. What our anger is really telling us, where it goes wrong, and what it looks like when it burns the way God intended.
Join us Sunday at 11am — 8712 Selger Drive, Springfield.

Join us Sunday - www.southrun.org. Here's what the message is about.

Bartimaeus was blind, broke, and sitting on the side of the road. His desperation led him to shout past the crowd—who were telling him to shut up—and to get the attention of the one who could do something. This Sunday we're talking about the kind of bold, persistent, holy-hustle faith that refuses to stay seated and discovers that Jesus is already waiting, already asking, already wanting to hear all about how he can answer your deepest needs.

This Sunday we’re exploring:
--Why faith is not passive and what bold, persistent faith actually looks like in practice.
--The question Jesus asks twice in Mark 10, and why he answers it differently each. time — What do you want?
--Why the version of Christianity that tells you to want nothing and need nothing is actually unbiblical and antithetical to the Jesus way that leads to life.
--How sacred striving and holy hustle are not opposed to grace but the key that unlocks the grace that awaits you.
--How the mature follower of Jesus knows who they are, is not afraid to ask for what they need, but is ultimately satisfied even if the answer is no because God’s answers are always in our best interest.

There’s a part of the Easter story we often overlook—Saturday.

The day after the cross, but before the resurrection. The day when everything felt silent, and it seemed like hope was gone. The day when people who loved Jesus were left grieving, waiting, and wondering if any of His promises were true.

But just because it felt hopeless didn’t mean hope was gone. God was still working. While the disciples were weeping, while the world thought death had won, God was preparing for resurrection.

And on the third day, Jesus rose.

So, if you’re in a season of waiting, where God feels silent, if you’re praying and don’t see an answer, don’t give up. What feels like a silent Saturday may just be the day before resurrection. God is still working, even when you can’t see it. Hope is still alive, even when it feels far away. And if Jesus conquered the grave, there is no situation in your life too dead for Him to bring back to life.

So hold on. Keep praying. Keep trusting.

Sunday is coming.

Holy Saturday feels quiet… but quiet doesn’t mean absent. It’s the space between what was and what God is about to do. The waiting. The unknown. The stillness. And yet… God is working.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalms 46:10

If today feels slow or uncertain, don’t rush it. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is be still… and trust Him. If you need help creating that quiet space,
our Be Still and Know song and daily devotionals are here to walk with you. Link in the bio on our page. 💜

What are you trusting God with in this season of waiting?

For those who joined us for last night’s Good Friday service, in which we enter the story of the passion as the characters who fail one after the next, this is a great reflection on how we all can play the role of Judas.

As Easter approaches, one BGAV pastor invites us to look beyond Judas as simply “the betrayer” and instead see a mirror of our own hearts. By exploring his story, we’re challenged to confront the subtle ways disappointment, pride, and self-will can lead us away from Christ. Yet even in that sobering truth, the hope of Easter shines through—grace that is greater than every failure, calling us back again.
