Forgiveness is a powerful tool that can lead us on the path toward healing and peace. However, for many men of color, forgiveness can be an arduous journey. The structural and systemic systems in place often hinder and destroy the ability to forgive, making it a challenging road to navigate. We will explore the struggles that black men face when it comes to forgiveness and how they can overcome these obstacles to find their way back home.
The Black Man Struggles with the Tool of Forgiveness:
For many black men, forgiveness can feel like an insurmountable task. The weight of systemic racism, discrimination, and oppression can make it difficult even to consider forgiving those who have wronged them. The history of slavery, segregation, and ongoing racial injustice can create deep wounds that are not easily healed.
The structural and systemic systems that have been put in place to hinder and destroy black men have also impeded the path of forgiveness. These systems perpetuate inequality and injustice, making it difficult for black men to find the space and peace needed to forgive. The trauma and pain that have been inflicted on black men for generations can make it challenging to let go of anger and resentment.
Still, forgiveness is possible. It requires strength, resilience, and a willingness to confront the deep-rooted pain and trauma that black men have experienced. Forgiving those who have caused harm takes courage but is a necessary step towards healing and wholeness. We'd like you to join us on Zoom to tackle this subject. Brother Mantwan Thomas will facilitate.

The Black Church Continuum needs to refresh its commitment to the mission of its divine calling. The people for whom it was thrust into service by our merciful creator, God, are still crying in a hopeless tune. The black church is the harbinger for the ever-flowing and, at times, overflowing, systemic hate that spews from Capitol Hill and many other state flags throughout the country, yet to apologize for the wrongs executed against the children of God.
We are called to harness securely our Solemnity of purpose within the birth and cause of The Black Church. Below are 12 points to consider embracing...

Ida Flynn is one of the beautiful souls who welcomed me as their new pastor in Springfield, Ma, over eight years ago. Not knowing much about the mission landscape of Springfield or the congregational character of the then 94-year-old Eliza Gardner Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, my heart was quickly put at ease by the warmth of this beloved church mother.
This woman loves her church, city, children, and her pastor. What the story does not cover is the fact that Mother Ida lives to serve the poor; I mean, she wakes up every day to spend her own money to buy what the poor need. She is indeed a mission-minded child of God, and God paired us together in the ministry of help. I salute this authentic servant-leader of God.

As they have done for decades, city officials, residents and leaders of the Springfield branch of the NAACP gathered on the steps of Springfield City Hall on a mid-January morning, posing with a flag that commemorates the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and carries the creases from years of being folded...
