🙏 Join us in praying for Nepal in the aftermath of flash flooding that led to devastating mudslides. We received word from our churches in the area–several churches have been damaged, and members or pastors are missing or tragically died. For Timure Church in Rasuwa, only the pastor survived.

The GMC disaster response team is actively working with churches in this area. Pray for the churches, families, missing people and the affected communities.

To our brothers and sisters in Nepal–we care about you and are praying for you.

Bissell church came into being in 1836 as both a church and schoolhouse. A new building was built in 1917 as a United Brethren Church. Later it became an Evangelical and United Brethren Church. In 1968 the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged with the Methodist Church creating the United Methodist Church (UMC). In 1994 the church building was destroyed by an arsonist’s fire. Out of the ashes, a new church was built at the same location where the original bell rests at the entrance and serves as a reminder of our history. This past month we have joined the Global Methodist Church and are looking forward to serving God for the next 190 years. Come and be apart as we look to return to the roots of Methodism.
