Final post from Palin:

Yesterday marked the end of our incredible trip, and it was filled with reflection, gratitude, and joy for all the memories we made with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We started the morning by packing up the van and car before heading to the Superdome for one final, powerful event. The atmosphere was filled with worship as the choir and band performed beautifully, and the opportunity to take Holy Communion made it even more special. It truly was the perfect way to close out our time in New Orleans. We hit the road shortly after noon and finally arrived back at the church around 1 AM, tired but filled with joy. This trip meant so much to all of us—it was a time of spiritual growth, laughter, deep conversations, and unforgettable moments spent in God’s presence. We are so thankful for the chance to grow closer to each other and to Him, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us over the past three years. This journey has been life-changing, and we will carry it with us forever.

From Palin:

Yesterday, we started the day like normal by heading to the convention center for our daily Bible study, which continues to be a meaningful way to begin each morning. After that, we broke off into our separate sessions, each of us attending different talks and activities that inspired and challenged us in unique ways. Later in the day, we regrouped and walked together over to the Superdome for another fun-filled evening. Once again, we were blessed with incredible speakers who delivered powerful, heart-filled messages. For some of us, their words stirred deep emotions and brought a sense of sadness, but they also carried a message of hope and joy for the future that encouraged and uplifted us. Last night was actually the earliest night we’d had in a while, and with that being said, most of us were finally able to wind down and get to bed shortly after midnight, which was a welcome change from the past few late nights.

From Palin:
Yesterday was another great day full of worship, learning, and fun. We started the morning with our usual Bible study and worship time, which was uplifting as always. After that, we split off into different sessions again, each one full of encouragement and insight. A few of us grabbed food across the street, while others saved their appetites for some leftover pizza later that evening. We all came back together for the big mass event, where we heard a powerful message from the speakers and then enjoyed an amazing concert by Rend Collective. The concert didn’t start until about 10:15 pm, so it wrapped up around 11:15, and we didn’t make it back to the hotel until after midnight. It was a long day, but everyone had a good time and got a lot out of it!

Gathering update from Palin - first full day:

We started off our day in New Orleans by meeting in the hotel lobby and heading over to the convention center for our morning Bible study, which was such a meaningful and uplifting way to begin the day. After that, we split up to attend different breakout sessions, and everyone came back saying how much they enjoyed and learned from them. The sessions wrapped up around 5:00 PM, and we headed back to the hotel to relax a bit and eat some pizza for dinner. Later in the evening, we walked over to the Superdome for the big mass event, which was an amazing experience filled with worship, praise, and a strong sense of community. The night ended on a high note with a concert by Flame, which was so much fun and a powerful way to close out a day full of faith and connection.

On Thursday, we hit the road early and drove all day, arriving at the church around 5 a.m., where our pastor sent us off with a prayer. The journey was filled with quick stops—including bathroom breaks, 7brew, Chick-fil-A, and a very sketchy Subway. We ran into a little rain along the way, but it didn’t last long. By around 5 p.m., we finally made it to New Orleans. That evening, we had dinner at Legacy Kitchen and got a taste of the city by walking down Bourbon Street. After a long day of travel and exploring, we wrapped up with a much-needed good night’s sleep.

Friday was full of activity and sightseeing. We started the day with a visit to Mardi Gras World, where we toured the behind-the-scenes production area and saw some of the signature parade floats up close. Afterwards, we headed to Boil House for a delicious seafood boil. The afternoon was spent walking around downtown shops where we picked up laser tag guns—later turning our hotel into a makeshift battlefield. We also stopped by the Riverwalk outlets to shop and grab some ice cream. The evening slowed down with card games and time to relax, bringing a fun and refreshing end to the day.

Today was full of fun and adventure! We started the morning with amazing beignets from Stuph’d—definitely a 10/10. Then we explored a street market before heading back to the hotel for a quick nap. A few people visited the WWII Museum while the rest of us rested. Later, we checked out the convention center and then took a long walk to the Superdome for a big mass event, which was super fun. We ended the night back at the hotel, talking about tomorrow’s plans.
