Blog: Let Us Raise Up More Altars (Dervin Brown)
Did you know that altars control what happens in the world? Yet, we think and talk very little
about this powerful reality in the church today. We must understand the concept of altars is a
spiritual principle that works and influences the environment, culture and the world. Throughout
the bible we see the high emphasis on the practice of sacrifice and altars as how God intervenes,
communes with his creation and redeemed humanity. This power is available to us today by way
of the altar.
What is an Altar? An altar is (“high place”) is a raised place on which sacrifices were offered in
the Old Testament – Westminster Dictionary of Theological Terms. References: Genesis 12:1-8;
13:14-18; Exodus 20:24).
1. Description of an Altar
• Biblically, an altar is a “high place” where sacrifices are made to summons God’s
intervention, communion and access to the spiritual dimension.
• Spiritually, it's a gateway between the physical and spiritual realms, enabling worship,
prayer, and covenant-making.
2. Characteristics of an Altar
• Priesthood: Every altar requires a priest to minister and maintain it.
• Spiritual Presence: Each altar is backed by a spirit (e.g., the Holy Spirit for holy altars).
• Sacrifices & Influence: The activities performed at an altar shape the atmosphere and
affect the people connected to it.
3. The power of Godly Altars
• Spiritual Altars is God’s divine strategy to counteract, neutralize and drive out demonic
influence in the atmosphere (families, neighborhoods, communities and nations) by
declaring the blood of Jesus and summoning the power of the Holy Spirit (The Spirit
Behind Holy Altars).
• When godly altars are raised up and rule, evil activities are subdued – ushering peace,
blessings and righteousness to reigns – thus, establishing the kingdom of God in the
territory.
Action Required: With our neighbors, communities and nation facing widespread demonic
activities symbolized by witchcraft practices and open rebellion against God; let us raise up
holy/godly altars right where we are (i.e. neighborhoods) and across the land.
The word of God declared in 2 Chronicle 7:14, If my people who are called by my name would humble
themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, then I [God] will hear from heaven and heal their
land.

Standing in the Gap through worship, praise and prayer

The Jericho Prayer Movement represented by godly altars gathered in various locations around the nation’s capital,
stood in the gap for the surrounding neighborhoods and released God’s presence to counteract satanic influences –
And proclaim God’s blessings.
Declared the Focus Scripture
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, praise the Lord” (Psalms 150:6 ESB)
PRAYER POINTS
Standing for Jesus in The Neighborhoods
~ We plead and released the blood of Jesus to counteract the evil activities in our neighborhoods. In
the name and by the blood of Jesus we break every satanic strong hold in the atmosphere- declaring
God’s protection, presence and blessings. Prayed our neighbors will be drawn to the light as they hear
united sound of worship, praise and prayers resounding throughout the neighborhoods – the sound
of heaven touching earth!
Standing in unity as the Body of Christ (The Church)
~Prayed that God’s people will shake off the slumber, arise and stand firm as light in the midst the
deepening darkness. The Church become broken over sins, repent and cry out for revival – in hope
that God will hear from heaven and heal our land [our nation]. Lord, stir up a sense of urgency and
intensify the fire on the altar of our hearts, so that we will be set ablaze to go forth and reap the harvest
for your glory.
Standing in the “Gap” for the Fatherless and Broken Families
~Prayed the Holy Spirit will burden the heart of godly men to “stand in the gap” by engaging and
making a difference in the lives of youth who are fatherless. Move us to engage in the lives of the
“Rising Generation” and be God’s instrument of love, healing and hope to hurt families in this critical
season.
Combined Fellowship of Altars: Standing faithfully
~The fire was intensified as we worshiped together and declared the wonderful works of God
experienced at each altar represented. The gateway of heaven was opened, and we experienced God’s
presence in our midst. A fresh commitment declared –
“We shall keep the fire burning on our altars!”

Prayers I Declaration I Altars Summary Report
JPM worshippers gathered at strategic altars across the Capitol Region (and Tennessee)
raising the banner of victory through worship, intercessory prayer and releasing God’s
presence into the neighborhoods, city and nation.
Special encounters with the “sound of worship” at Martin Luthur King Jr. Altar
As we lifted the banner of victory in worship a fox appeared on the stone wall but could not
pe*****te our altar of worship – it fled out of sight. A bystander was drawn by the sound of
worship and joined us, confessing “I heard the sound and had to come over.
” God created
opportunities for ministry moments at our altar to those visiting the monument.
Prayer Points
The neighborhoods Change Exercised our priestly authority to invite and release God’s presence
and power against the forces of evil operating in the atmosphere. We declared victory, restoration,
peace and salvation though our neighborhoods, cities to overflow into our nation.
The Body of Christ Awaken Prayed that hunger for repentance, righteousness and revival will
intensify among God’s people. The Church of Jesus Christ will set the standard and model true humility, unity
and love to counteract the spirit of division, pride, hatred and violence in the neighborhoods and nation.
The Fatherless & Now Generation Prayed according to Malachi 4:6 that God would turn the
heart of the fathers to the children (and vis-a-versa). Generational cycle of fatherlessness will be
broken in families. Our young people shall be saved, walk in their Christ-Centered identity and fulfil
their God-given purpose and destiny.
The Combined Fellowship of Altars Represented – Set on Fire
JPM worshipers brought the fire from their respective altars, declaring victory for what the
Lord had done. There was spontaneous outbreak of dancing in the Spirit, inspirational
testimonies, anointed prayers and worship – A Time of Refreshing from the Presence of
the Lord!

Prayers I Declaration I Altar Updates
The Capitol Hill Altar in Washington DC (Pastor Sharon Lee, Alter Leader):
1. Proclaiming Jeremiah 29:11, we prayed that this word will be fulfilled in the United States.
2. That within Congress, both Republicans and Democrats would lay down their political agendas and unite solely
for God’s purposes.
3. That the next generation would be protected from the LGBTQ culture.
4. That the media and press would report with honesty and fairness.
5. That God would bless the JPM partner churches and ministers and fulfill the promise of Jeremiah 29:11 in
their lives and ministries.
The Clinton Maryland Altar Report (Apostle Clyde Jones, Altar Leader):
Today we started at our Clinton Alter with Praise and Thanksgiving. We went into declaring the scripture verse over our lives,
the various JPM altars, over the government officials, and businesses in the Clinton area. We also declared the plans of God
over the USA plans not for harm but for prosperity, hope and a future.
The Advance Church Altar in Washington DC (Sister Carol Best, Altar Leader):
We had a prayerfully productive time of worship, praise and fervent prayer. There were four (4) of us including one (1) of the
Advance Church Elders, but the small number by no means restricted the fervor of our prayer or the rich presence of the
Holy spirit.
The Murfreesboro Tennessee Altar Update (Sister Nancy Boisseau, Altar Leader):
We had eight (8) in attendance in Murfreesboro. One (1) was a new one who just happened to be passing by. That is always
good. Powerful Prayers!

SUMMARY OF ALTARS l SATURDAY, AUGUST 2, 2025 Rejoicing in God’s Faithfulness Worshippers gathered at strategic altars across DC, Maryland and Tennessee – releasing the sound worship and intercession to invite God’s presence in our neighborhoods, cities and nation.

Songs of Worship
~Holy Spirit you are welcome here, come flood this place and fill the atmosphere, your glory is what our hearts long for ….to be overcome by your presence, Lord.

~ Great is thy faithfulness…morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand has provided…great is Thy faithfulness, mercy and love.
~ My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness…. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all
other ground is sinking sand.

~Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say that you’re my God …. You are wonderful to
me.~ How great is our God, how great is his name. He’s the greatest One forever the same…. He rolled back the
waters of the mighty Red Sea….He said,” I’ll never leave you. Put your trust in me.”

“Because of the Lord’s faithful love, we do not perish. For his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ” - NIV
Prayer Points ~ Prayed for the fire of God to fall upon all JPM altars to ushering in God’s presence, take light
into the darkness overshadowing the neighborhoods, cities and nation. That new JPM altars 70) be raised up as instrument of revival and transformation for the glory of God.

~ Prayed that the Church of Jesus Christ will arise from slumber, awake and take spiritual authority in this season. The church will heed the voice of the Spirit’s commissioning to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel (not politics), share the love of Jesus, show mercy and
advance God’s kingdom in the earth – while we still have time.

~ Prayed for the respective neighborhoods surrounding each respective JPM Altar; that the
presence and power of God would begin to manifest though healing the hurts, pain and brokenness, peace and protection from violent crimes and reconciliation to God and each other
in order to foster a sense of harmony, safety, rejoicing and healthy community atmosphere.

~ Prayer lifted for national leaders, Justices and those in authority to align with God’s purposes for the nations – in lieu of the critical climate we are now living in.

~ Prayed for “The Now Generation” to come forth into the special calling and place God has
preordained for them in this season. They will be delivered from toxic culture and raised up to walk in the fullness of the light of Jesus. They will not bow to the pressures and ungodly
influences surrounding them, rather, they will become the influencers, spiritual game changers and bold leaders of their generation.

~Prayed for the unity of the Body of Christ to break the spirit of division in our culture so we can become instruments of unity, peace, love and reconcilers in our families, neighborhoods, nation and world.

Faithfully Assembled to Lavish God with Worship

Worshipper from MLKM Altar met at International Calvary Church (ICC) in lieu of road closure to the monument. Assembling together in worship with hearts on one accord, we experienced God’s enriching presence in our midst.

Prayer Points
~ Prayed for the Christ of Jesus Christ to align with God’s heart to be holy and uncompromising in worship and witness amid the present darkness over the land. The church will recognize God has given us the authority change the culture by bringing God’s presents into our neighborhoods through worship, intercession and proclaiming the Gospel.
~ Prayed for the godly leaders to rise in boldness and stand for truth, righteousness and humility before God.
~ Prayed for God to raise up a “Now Generation” of young people that fears the Lord, yet be strong in unshakable faith, relentless boldness to stand un-compromisingly against the current of secular culture. That they will be set on fire to win their generation for Christ.
~ Prayed for the fire of God to fall on worshippers/intercessors at every JPM Altar. Interceded that each existing altar will grow and more altars be established in neighborhood across the DC Metropolitan Area (70 Altars).
~Prayed for the unity of the Body of Christ to break the spirit of division in our culture so we can become instruments of unity, peace, love and reconcilers in our families, neighborhoods, nation and world.

Entered the gate of the Martin Luther King Jr. Altar with hearts stirred with praise and worship -declaring the faithfulness of our God. A refreshing wind gently blowing in the atmosphere, symbolic of the Holy Spirit’s presence with us!

~My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus Name…On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand….

~Great is thy faithfulness, O God my father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee, Thou changeset not, thy compassion, they fail not, as Thou has been, Thou forever will be…. Great is the faithfulness, Lord, unto me….

Intercessory Prayer Focus
~ Fervent prayers were lifted for renewed and strengthened faith believers to stand with boldness for Jesus during this this time of increased spiritual darkness in our nation and world.
~ Prayed for awaking and revival of the church to take authority and advance God’s kingdom -as this is our only hope.
~ Intercession was made for the “Now Generation” youth of America; that our young people will come to know Jesus by faith and live out their God-giving destiny.
~ Prayed for endurance amid trials and difficulties; that believers would not give up – but anchor our confidence in Jesus; our Rock!
~Prayed against the spirit of division in our culture; we will be instruments of unity, peace, love and reconcilers in our families, community, nation and world.

Special Visitors
As worship filled the atmosphere, God began to draw visitors closer to us with opened hearts. Dr. Boone invited special visitors to join us in worship and prayer. We were joined by Mr. Bashih (father) and Eva (daughter) visiting from Russia. Also, Mr. Nsoah Chionesn (father) visiting from Hawaii and Malkia (daughter) living in DC.
Conclusion
Blessing & Benediction: The Lord bless you, and keep you: The Lord makes His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and gives you peace (Numbers 6:24-26)

Fresh Energy of the Holy Spirit
Assembled as true worshipers at International Calvary Church, we united in spirit enthroning our Lord in Worship. Pressing beyond the outer court, the veil and advancing into the Holies of Holies - there in His presence we experienced fullness of joy and a time
of renewal in the Holy Spirit.

Songs of Worship ~All hail the power of Jesus’ name! Let angel’s prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem and crown him Lord of all! ~We have come into this house, gathered in His name to worship Christ our Lord…
So forget about yourself, concentrate on him and worship Him...Worship Christ our Lord.

~There is none like You, no one else can touch my heart like You do, I can search for all eternity long and find there is none like You...Lord there is none like You. ~What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus, what can make me whole again? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus…Oh precious is the flow that makes me white as snow, nothing but the blood….
Focus Verse of the Month:

1 Corinthians 1:18 “ For the Message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are
being saved it is the power of God” – NIV
Visitation of the Spirit of God
As intercessors from each JPM prayer altar represented gathered in fellowship, it appeared on the surface as “just another monthly gathering.” However, God was up to something beyond
what we could even think or imagine. Worshiping and enthroning Christ in our midst as the power of God set the atmosphere for the presence of God to be released. As each prayer altar
were called forth to share, engaged in worship and reflected on the Message of the Cross as well as declared the blood of Jesus; there was an undercurrent and momentum building in the spirit.
All present in the room could sense a shift was taking place evidence by a silent reverential hush and the presence of the Lord began to saturate the atmosphere. As His
presence increased in our midst, there was spontaneous outbreak of worship with hands lifted, speaking in tongues and several intercessors weeping before the Lord with exuberant joy. This
was indeed a time of refreshing, renewal and restoration of boldness and energizing power of the Holy Spirit – made possible by the Message of the Christ and the Power of the Blood of
Christ. Exhortation from JPM Leaders: Dr. Corinthia Boone & Pastor Sharon Lee
- JMP has received fresh fire and new energy from the Holy Spirit to go forth and proclaim the Message of the Cross – It is the Power of God!

Conclusion Aaronic Blessing: The Lord bless you, and keep you: The Lord makes His face shine upon you,
and be gracious unto you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and gives you peace

We entered MLKM Altar releasing worship unto God, while acknowledging the beautify surroundings and evidence of changing season.Worship
Your goodness is running after, is running me....Lord you are good, good, good!
I live to worship you, I live, I live to worship you…. I live to love you….I live to worship you! Proclaimed JPM Selected Scripture Verse: Matthew 28:19
“ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Focused Prayers Released
Prayer point~ The Body of Christ will embrace the urgency mandate to make disciples, while baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Reality of What God is). Prayed
against false doctrine and deceptions in our culture- bring illumination to the walking dead and give life.
Prayer Point ~God the walls of division and hatred will be torn down, by the unity of Christ’s baptized disciple – shining as living examples of what Jesus is (Healer, Righteousness, peace,
victory, savior, present/there with us). God’s people in America to rise and become agents of healing, peace and unity-especially as we approach the coming election.
Prayer Point ~ For God to save families and the young generation– protect the children and
youth the plan to the enemy to kill, steal and destroy; Churches will disciple families, parents
and youth.
Prayer point ~ Believers will be godly examples to demonstrate and reflect who Jesus is by the
way we live among those around us. Let it start with us at the JPM alters- so, we can carry the
light to those who are in darkness.
Prayer Points ~ God, give us the pathway to teach and train others in who you are and what
you are – so, they can experience the fullness of power of your Name and Blood. That you for
giving us the power to move heaven and earth. Conclusion
“” Let us show the culture who and what God is by releasing the fragrance of Jesus’
