The establishment of a new Bible school in northern Côte d’Ivoire represents a major step toward reaching one of the country’s least-evangelized regions. Dr. Honoré Daplex Ouentchist, President of the National Committee for Theological Education of the Evangelical Assemblies of God Church of Côte d'Ivoire, believes the school will become a strategic center for evangelism and church planting throughout the north.
“We believe that by establishing this school here in northern Côte d'Ivoire, we will have the most effective means of reaching not only the cities, but also the villages, and even the smallest settlements with the gospel throughout this region,” Daplex said. “Our desire is to see northern Côte d'Ivoire evangelized.”
Students will receive biblical training and practical ministry experience, traveling into villages to teach, evangelize, and plant churches. While the south has four Bible schools, this will be the first in the north—a region whose vast size makes the school an enormous blessing.
The initiative builds on the Assemblies of God’s previous vision to plant 5,000 churches, a goal reached by God’s grace, though most were planted outside the north.
“Now the time has come for the north,” Daplex said. “We must evangelize northern Côte d'Ivoire by planting churches in every city, every village, and every settlement.”
Africa’s Hope believes in this strategic vision and is committed to partnering with the Assemblies of God in Côte d’Ivoire to see this project become a launching point for evangelism, church planting, and missions across northern Côte d’Ivoire and into neighboring Guinea and Mali.
